In light of recent events, I find it relevant to suggest that the vessel's security team, while consistently reliable, is only one variant thereof. Recent transmissions from an anonymous source largely referred to as smiley, have illuminated the insufficiency of our attempts to both locate the source and individual responsible. I am aware that we have several individuals aboard who consider technological security and the bypass thereof- a specialty, and I am equally aware that despite these assets, we have gleaned, comparably, very little.

I believe we would benefit significantly from teaching these skills to others and forming a technical security network, for the express purpose of tracking, locating, and attempting to engage this individual.

I can offer no personal guarantees regarding the success or, at this interim, the establishment of such a unit. However, I would not be averse to conversing with interested parties. If you possess technical proficiency of any kind or the inclination to learn, your participation would be welcome.

At this time, I believe I should clarify that while these anonymous messages are most engaging, I am not of the opinion that we should offer them exclusive focus. The Tranquility remains in a state of perpetual disrepair and remarkably little is intimately understood about it's origins and technology. While a surveillance team will likely provoke further questions, it does not eliminate those we have failed to answer thus far.

I am aware of the nature of your relationship with Tony Stark. But I wonder about your personal thoughts of his character.

[ very frankly: ] He is a high functioning neurotic narcissist and if self-interest could fuel we would never need another large scale energy source.

He is also a hero.

A hero?

One admired for courage and sacrifice for the sake of the greater good and wellbeing of others, usually in the name of peace.

It is debated by many how much of it is for ego.

But it is not debated by you.

It is not.

I do not doubt his merit.

However, I find significant difficulty in approaching him. He appears, disinterested in cooperating with a unit he does not believe himself to control. While I understand the necessity of placing one's trust delicately, most especially provided the environment aboard the Tranquility- passenger Stark does not give the- appearance of a man who wishes to involve himself without some modicum of authority.

It is an accurate assumption. He does not, what is the phrase, 'play well with others'. If Mr. Stark is not running the program, he will refuse to be a part of it.

It is for the best of most involved. I would suggest asking Pepper Potts what it is like attempting to express any sort of control or authority over him.

It is not my desire to exact control of his person or his ventures in any capacity. [ because dear god, why would anyone want that. ]

I merely grapple with an acceptable means to approach and request participation. I have been, and remain, at somewhat of a loss. Human interaction and the emotional subtleties thereof are largely beyond my practical comprehension.

I would suggest offering him a position of power to do with what he pleases, and then do not attempt to intervene when he works. Alternatively, request a freelance contract. And again, do not intervene with his work.

I am at a loss in the same capacity, but I have spent the entirety of my existence with Mr. Stark, and it is a fair assertion that he does not respond to typical human subtleties as most do. The playing field is fairly even.
