[It takes a minute for the feed to pipe up, but when it does, it's the older voice that starts a short chat.]
Hey there, Tranquility, I know we're not looking at a full staff by any means, but I figured I'd put my own 'Help Wanted' sign out for everyone to see.
For anyone who doesn't know, the name's Isaac. I'm kind of one of the more vocal people still working over on the Engineering Deck. We've got about... half a dozen people here. Depending on the time of day. Now, if you can't exactly tell from the size of the ship.. that's not exactly "fully staffed".
It's no secret that we still don't know even a good tenth of what we should down here, but considering we're all still trying to get used to the systems - well. You can see where this is going, we need some sort of help.
I've got some basic information and maps I've drawn up that I'm willing to share, and I figure everyone else can work from there, find areas they're comfortable in, and start poking around. And if you can't tell a mainframe motherboard from a terminal motherboard - that's fine too. I can show some basics to that, too.
Let me know if any of you are interested. Clarke out.

So, Captain. I was thinking about poking around that mysterious piece of tech known as the Jump Drive to figure out just what it does.
Got any objections to that?

So, Chief. We might need a little more info than what we've been given so far to get this floating tomb to a better degree of 'operational'. Anything you're willing to divulge we haven't tried to mess with on our own?
[25% ENCRYPTION - MR. SMILES]
So it seems to me that no one has asked you about a very crucial detail.
Would you mind indulging me?

What're you in the medbay for, if I can ask?

And I'm Robin, by the way.
You can ask, but you can probably guess too. Fear gas stuff. Kinda got caught up in it. [ Which is vague, which is SO vague, but expunging the details makes him squirm, embarrassed. ] Got a little banged up. Guess I'm getting used to it.

[and he jacks up the encryption because this isn't something he wants just anyone creeping in on]
Actually, I wouldn't mind lending a hand. Some of us are thinking that since it's the issue to begin with, it might be our only way home.
voice; encryption 100%
But glad you don't have any issues with it. There's some spare parts and wiring around here, I can probably cobble together something that can pick up some readings during our next jump... won't be the most accurate thing ever devised, but it's better than nothing.

[he considers for a moment. Resnik would have found something, he's sure. she seems competent.]
But jerry rigging something isn't a bad idea either.
Have you worked with something like this before?

What experience do you have, in terms of Engineering?

Also, want in on the jump drive goodies. [encryptions, what are those? ...oh yeah, Megamind's a dick.]

Don't have anything yet. Right now it's just a little pet project while we figure out how to get the rest of Engineering running smooth. No big deal.

The basics should be pretty simple, knowing what wires go to what, how to determine voltages. Power distro and cooling systems.

All right. When you wanna start?
