[It takes a minute for the feed to pipe up, but when it does, it's the older voice that starts a short chat.]

Hey there, Tranquility, I know we're not looking at a full staff by any means, but I figured I'd put my own 'Help Wanted' sign out for everyone to see.

For anyone who doesn't know, the name's Isaac. I'm kind of one of the more vocal people still working over on the Engineering Deck. We've got about... half a dozen people here. Depending on the time of day. Now, if you can't exactly tell from the size of the ship.. that's not exactly "fully staffed".

It's no secret that we still don't know even a good tenth of what we should down here, but considering we're all still trying to get used to the systems - well. You can see where this is going, we need some sort of help.

I've got some basic information and maps I've drawn up that I'm willing to share, and I figure everyone else can work from there, find areas they're comfortable in, and start poking around. And if you can't tell a mainframe motherboard from a terminal motherboard - that's fine too. I can show some basics to that, too.

Let me know if any of you are interested. Clarke out.

Out of commission for the time being. Prognosis TBA. But I know my way around a system or two that's probably just as complex as this one, so provided I get up and rearing sooner than later, you might have another set of hands?

Space travel isn't exactly main stream in my reality, but I'm an extra pair of hands and a quick study.

Hard to say no to trying to figure out how to fix the life support if she blows. Sure. I'll take a stab.

Example of previous experience would be appreciated.

What're you in the medbay for, if I can ask?

Yeah, I find for a lot of people it isn't. Which is why I'm trying to take charge of the situation - stuff like this was bread and butter back home.

How quick can you learn?

If you want to be technical, Life Support isn't a part of the Engineering deck, but considering we're close enough to the Oxygen gardens back here to count, I'm pretty sure they expected Engineering to pull double-shift as the Life Support repairmen.

Got any experience with this kind of stuff back home?

Actually, I wouldn't mind lending a hand. Some of us are thinking that since it's the issue to begin with, it might be our only way home.

Enough to get me from planet to planet. Uh, working off a different system, but that's not news around here.

I have recently joined the engineering team alongside Tali'Zorah vas Normandy's return. I would be happy to assist if you would like help in running calculation, diagnostics or general maintenance, Mr. Clarke.

I'm a real quick study. I don't know shit about none o' this stuff, but I figure after a day or three I'll be brilliant at it.

[ And there's a flash on Isaac's screen, suddenly, a wired text file detailing four years of extensive hacking, rewiring, and whatever else machine work being a Robin might've required, all while conveniently leaving out the small detail of his only being a thirteen year old boy. He knows how he looks on paper and that should be more than enough. ]

You can ask, but you can probably guess too. Fear gas stuff. Kinda got caught up in it. [ Which is vague, which is SO vague, but expunging the details makes him squirm, embarrassed. ] Got a little banged up. Guess I'm getting used to it.

I'm no expert, but I could find my way around Engineering. And I'm a fast learner.

[Isaac reads it over. Yeah, he doesn't know who this guy is exactly, but he's definitely good. Maybe a little wet behind the ears when it comes to Starship Maitenance, but he'll work.]

I'm noticing a distinct lack of spacefaring experience here...But you're good. There's nothing denying that. If you want to get arm-deep in wiring in engineering, be my guest.

[Have a package forwarded back to you, Robin - it's a current, partially complete map of the Engineering deck, along with some notes about the systems and how they work in tandem, as far as Isaac's managed to figure it out, which is a pretty decent list.]

You might need a few more years and a few more crisis situations under your belt before that happens.

But the enthusiasm's definitely something we can use down here in the engineering deck.

That's better than most. Seems like for most people space-travel is still in the baby steps.

What's your name?

Not sure how to feel about Megamind taking a stab at the thing. I trust him enough that we can work together on most things in Engineering, but the Jump Drive... well, that's a bit more delicate to work with.

But glad you don't have any issues with it. There's some spare parts and wiring around here, I can probably cobble together something that can pick up some readings during our next jump... won't be the most accurate thing ever devised, but it's better than nothing.

When can I start?

I'm impressed some of them figured out how to press the button to call for help.

I'd think Resnik would have something to help with that. Try checking around the work stations, see if they don't have something outfitted to Tranquility that might help you get a more accurate reading.

What ships uyou usually work on. Frigate-class? Battleships? Cargo transport? You know, so I know what kind of area you're used to covering.

Yeah, I'm going to see if I can't hit up Resnik soon. If that doesn't work, there's plenty of spare materials to go around.

And yeah, I have. Ship systems and maitenance was my speciality, back in my homeworld. Planet cracker class - ...probably not quite as big as this thing, but comparable.
