4th Gear - Video;
So, we all know that there's something fishy going on here by now.
But I think -- and don't shoot the skeptic here, because it seems we can't afford to have any men down -- that if there is going to be a threat, we want everyone to be capable of keeping in touch.
No man left behind, as it were.
To that end, if there are any people experiencing difficulties using their communicators, I'd be happy to help.
[A team is only as strong as its weakest member, right? You never knew when even someone who'd previously seemed useless would come through at an unexpected moment.
She brings the video a little closer to her face.]
I don't bite, I promise. So, any takers?
[Sooner was better than later.]

Re: Video;
Squeak.
[ Death translated. ]
How do you write and how do you send a message to everyone at once?
Video;
[Stranger things she's seen, though. She pauses.]
I think this might be easier in person. Do you know where the common area is, outside the rooms?
Video;
Yes.
[ "The common area outside of the rooms". Most probably where the sound of life pouring was concentrated on one of the upper floors. In the feed, Death momentarily looked up to assess where the sound was coming from now. A few blocks forward and to the right... Yes. That place must be it. The challenge lay in going up without knowing how to go up. ]
[ Given the amount of time spent wandering around, Death could not help but feel a bit sheepish for asking. Or he would if he did know the meaning of the word past: to be like sheep. ]
No. We have been looking for a way to go upstairs.
[ Death glances at the Death of Rats again. It nodded. ]
We were wondering if you could help us with directions as well?
Video;
[She can't help the small smile. At least he can't see it, behind her mask.]
I can come and find you.
Video;
Elevators?
[ Unknown word aside, here was finally someone offering some real help. If Death had glands they would have been producing a lot of happy chemical reactions in the squishy part known as the brain. ]
That would be very much appreciated, yes.
Video;
I'll be there soon, and we'll get you -- all up to speed on elevators.
Video to Action?
Thank you.
[ The feed terminates and Death looks around, wondering if he should go back to the lab he woke up in. Finding his way back there was easy enough. Death couldn't actually forget the way. After a pause, he decides to do just that and starts off. Within a couple of minutes, Death finds himself just a few corridors away from the medbay. ]
Action!
Tali catches up with him a few minutes later, raising a hand in greeting to the -- man in the cloak. He looks almost like a banshee might, but he's all bones -- no emaciation, and more importantly ... no tortured look in his eyes.]
-- I didn't catch your name.
Woooo~
[ Death mimics Tali's gesture. ]
Death. The Death of the Discworld.
[ There was a Squeak from inside his robe and a sound of scrabbling. Death stretched out his hand, the Death of Rats perched on his palm, its forepaws clasped together. ]
The Death of Rats.
Pleased to meet you...?
[ OOC: Thank you so much for rescuing him ;A; ]
8D
[She's had enough people asking her what she is that she isn't going to ask either of them the same thing.]
Both of you. Come on, we can go to the elevators while we talk.
Have you both been here for long?
no subject
Two months?
[ He felt the time needed some explanation as... well, two months on the same floor was strange. ]
I kept walking into walls during the first month.

[She shook her head and moved to the elevator, motioning for him to come inside.]
You'll have a room in the regular quarters, too.
no subject
[ Death steps in and examines what seems to be a very cramped and very spartan room. ]
Is this your room?
[ OOC: Sorry for the lateness orz. ]
no subject
[No worries!]

[ "Get to the other parts of the ship..." That is what the instructions with the map also said. After the rat managed to enlarge the text on the screen of the tiny box. It said that different coloured lines on the map represented something called "lifts" and that they would lead to other areas. But so far, everything they encountered was in shades of blue, white, black and grey. As too was this box they were standing in. No wonder they weren't able to find their way. The map had lied. ]
This is what you call a "lift" then?
no subject
Yes, that's right. Not everyone has access to all of the elevators, though.
[It's not too long a ride up to the floor where the rooms were located. She steps out and motions for them to do the same.]
no subject
[ Death steps out and silently makes the same assessment. Yes, these "lifts" will make things so much easier now. ]
And this is where...?
no subject
[She's ... not sure which one of them have it, though, or where.]
no subject
[ Death tugs the end of his left sleeve back to look at his arm where bits of black? Or are they grey? They have his glow though so are the blue? Are in a constant rumba over invisible skin. Floating just barely over his bones. Only coalescing into the number he remembers when he gazes upon them. ]
[ The nanites form the numbers 002 ยป 080. ]
You mean this?
no subject
Yes, that's the one. The number will coincide with a room.
[She pauses.]
...so, do you think you'll be a little more -- mobile now?
no subject
Yes.
[ He turns to her. ]
Thank you.
no subject
[She waves a hand toward the rooms.]
Can I help you with anything else?
I-I wish I had a rat icon orz
Squeek.
[ The Death of Rats looked up at her, holding the comm device in both its bony paws. ]
O-oh that would be great
Right, the communicator. You wanted to figure out how to send messages to everyone, right?
no subject
[ The Death of Rats grinned. ]
(no subject)
