[ to anyone with particularly delicate sensibilities, irene probably looks incredibly offensive with only her underwear as clothing, but irene never has fully understood the need for modesty sometimes. what's the use in covering up when all it did was cover up who a person was. 

they should consider themselves lucky that she didn't greet them in her battle dress. there's a small pause before she speaks, and she has a rather pleasant smile on her face when she finally does. (it's fake, but no one really needs to know that.) ]

Space. Well, I'll admit that like every other child I always dreamed of coming up here, but typically when I had that dream it wasn't because I was taken from Earth. [ a beat. ] The least you all could have done was give us better clothing. A jumpsuit tailored to fit? If I was anyone else I might be offended that you took the time to tailor it, but it hardly excuses the fact that it's a jumpsuit.

It's not something I believe anyone truly wants to wear. [ another beat. ] But here I am boring anyone listening with comments on fashion. What I'd truly like to know is if anyone is willing to part with a pair of scissors? I'm sure some of you can guess why I'm asking, but for those of you who might be a bit slower on the uptake, I'm only using them to deal with the outfit so that I'm not lacking in that department. 

[ there's very long pause, and it almost looks like irene is going to say another word but then she says something that truly only makes sense to certain people. ] 

I'd be willing to extend an offer of dinner for them in exchange. Any other terms would have to be negotiated, however.

[ irene contemplated wearing it for a good five minutes before realizing that she honestly couldn't bring herself to do it. perhaps it was because she missed wearing her normal attire or perhaps she really did just find the jumpsuit far too offensive for life. but honestly what had everyone done to annoy the fashion gods for this punishment. irene briefly considers showing that she has one pair of heels but thinks better of it since they are, after all her only pair on this ship. ]

A fellow woman who understands the need for a good pair of heels. Nothing too high, I presume. You hardly look like the type to walk in the ones designed for minimal walking.

[she's hoping that the ship will do her a favour and grant her a pair of heels in the next jump. or even just something a lot less hideous than a jumpsuit. it's arguable that the jumpsuits are there for practical reasons but bela can think of other clothes that she could wear that are fashionable as well as being quite practical.]

Nothing more than about four inches, but it all depends on the occasion. Sometimes, you just need a little extra lift. [she seems amused for a moment.] What else can you tell about my 'type', hm?

Borrowing would temporarily parting with them. I never planned on keeping them past the time I used them. I'm not the type to carry around a pair of scissors unless I truly need them.

You don't need to be nervous when telling me this. I'm not going to forcibly take them otherwise I wouldn't have asked the entirety of everyone on the ship if they even possessed a pair.

...If all else fails, there are knives in the kitchens. They aren't terrible, either. Not top-notch by any means, but I would imagine they would do in a pinch.
