If I was anyone else I might be offended that you took the time to tailor it, but it hardly excuses the fact that it's a jumpsuit.

What I'd truly like to know is if anyone is willing to part with a pair of scissors? I'm sure some of you can guess why I'm asking, but for those of you who might be a bit slower on the uptake, I'm only using them to deal with the outfit so that I'm not lacking in that department.

[ there's very long pause, and it almost looks like irene is going to say another word but then she says something that truly only makes sense to certain people. ]

I'd be willing to extend an offer of dinner for them in exchange. Any other terms would have to be negotiated, however.

I've recently found myself in possession of a pair of scissors.

Four inches is typically the easiest to deal with in my experience. You're capable of running in them if you're used to wearing heels and it adds just enough lift. Though I'll confess, I do own a few that are higher. [ she smirks. ] Nothing too much. But if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say you're the type who enjoys the finer things, but you'e not afraid to get your hands dirty if it means getting those things. Do tell me if I've offended you with the assessment.

That's quite an accurate assessment. I do love the finer things in life and I'm definitely not afraid to bend a few rules or even break them to get what I want. Ah yes, the other issues like the fact that I'm in space on a ship that's rather large and potentially deadly. It's my first- what do you call it- jump. I'm afraid that the far more important things don't apply to me just yet.

Scissors. I'm in need of them. At least that was the truly important part of the talking. I'd reiterate the rest but I don't think it'd serve any real purpose.

Borrowing would temporarily parting with them. I never planned on keeping them past the time I used them. I'm not the type to carry around a pair of scissors unless I truly need them.

[ there's a pause on irene's end before she sighs. ]

You don't need to be nervous when telling me this. I'm not going to forcibly take them otherwise I wouldn't have asked the entirety of everyone on the ship if they even possessed a pair.

It's unwise to show all your cards when first meeting someone. What kind of a person would I be if I admitted to such potentially unsavory things?

Why it might be a rather horrible first impression. [ beat. ] But you do occasionally have to break a few eggs to make an omelette in my experience. [ which is to say, twisting the rules to suit her needs is something irene loves to do. ]

I could be persuaded to part with them for a time. In exchange for something else, of course.

Depending on the price, I'm sure we could potentially come to an agreement. Of course, if it's too steep, you could understand why I'd say no.

No, it didn't. They're jumpsuits, they're designed for running around in.

Theoretically they are. In reality some individuals find running around in a jumpsuit rather cumbersome. Even if it is tailored to fit each individual person. Besides, I do have a certain degree of individuality I like to maintain.
