After getting situated and becoming increasingly aware of the fact that there is likely no escape from this terrible place, Alexander retreated to the privacy of a free room and proceeded to THROW A FIT. Was all he worked for over the past 300 years for nothing? All those people he mercilessly tortured to harvest blood from, sacrificed in vain? If he ever did get back home at this rate, would his love even know him anymore...?
He would have wept if he hadn't lost the capacity centuries ago.
Instead, he calmed himself with the hope that maybe he could still find a way back home. A ship that could kidnap people from different worlds could surely put them back where they belonged with just as little notice. Or perhaps one of the stops after the next one would be his home world. There were possibilities. He wouldn't give up. He'd waited too long, worked too hard to throw it all away now.
After straightening the room back up, he grabbed his communicator, turning it over in his bony, withered hand. There was still a chance.
---
[Sup, Tranquility. Today we bring you the eerie but oddly soothing sounds of an old, old man. Doesn't he look silly with that cravat on over his jumpsuit.]
So it would seem that not all of us are human. How curious that you should all be so open about it... One has to wonder what sort of worlds you were all transported from. I have had more than a passing interest in the idea of traveling between worlds.
[More like he's devoted HIS ENTIRE LIFE to doing it, and most of it trying to get back home.]
Tell me. Do any of you non-humans possess any supernatural abilities? I wonder if perhaps they could be of use in our current situation.
...Ah. I nearly forgot. My name is Alexander. These devices are not my usual style of communication... I look forward to being able to meet you all face-to-face whenever possible.

He bites his lip for a moment, glances around, and pushes a button on the device, trying to cut off the video feed. Wrong button; he's still visible and he can still see the baron.]
...Yes?
You said you want to learn about traveling between worlds...can you help me get back home?
[Really, he only cares if it's enough to get himself home. But if he can find some way that fixes everyone else's problem too, sure, why not. Maybe it'll absolve him of all the other shit he's done (and is likely yet to do).]
[He casts a wary glance sideways. "Powers", artifacts, all these things point to some kind of magic and he has a sinking feeling that it's the sort of magic he shouldn't be involved in. That sounds dangerous but still, he really does want to go home...]
[With how nervous this kid is, Alexander is under the impression he might be hiding something.]
Of course, the odds of something like that being on board are slim.
[The wish to go home and see his loved ones wins out over his fear. He can control himself--he'd proven that. He could. It would be fine. This man looks old, like his chieftain. That alone gives the ribika reason enough to consider his words.]
[That's the nice thing about helpless young people. They're so easy to manipulate.]
[He doesn't even really know where to start, but the promise of going home is right there. He can't just let that go by without even trying to help.]

[And seeing just how useful he is.]

I've traveled through time and space but not between worlds. Such a feat would not be improbable though.

[he smiles]
I am Heatwave.
[he doesn't mention his ability because that's not supernatural
yes it is, Heatwave][video]
[More like THAT'S NO HELP AT ALL.]
I hope you get the data you need.
Video
Starting up a collection, are you?
[Lab rats, more like it...]
Video
Don't be absurd. [He's got a collection already going at Brennenburg anyway.] I only want to get home, the same as everybody else stuck here.
Re: Video
I am never absurd! [Only mentally unstable...] I doubt that anyone here could single-handedly handle this behemoth, human or no, da? I do not blame you as it is necessary for me to be home as soon as possible but---
[the most noncommittal shrug ever baby] Do tell if your search is being successful.
Video
[BUT NOT REALLY, he does not like this lady's attitude and is less inclined to help her than other people. Who are already much lower in priority than himself anyway.]
Video
I would offer my assistance but I am afraid I have no particular skills.
[a beat] What about yourself? What is in this bag of tricks of yours? [nosy...]
Video
[Which he sure as heck wouldn't admit so openly back on Earth but given everyone on board here, it's not that weird. Besides, it's less complicated than getting caught in a lie later on.]
Video
Perhaps I could be of use, then. If ever we need to go that far on this hellhole.
[which she thinks is doubtful, but best to show any common interests for an ally here]
I wouldn't say supernatural but standard technically immortal unless we're dissolved and strength surpassing humans sort of bit.
Ah, yes... I'm curious - does the changing political landscape affect your perhaps in personality or other such things, or does what happens to you affect the nation?
[It's not going to help, but whatever, HE'S FASCINATED.]
It depends on how radical it changes, to be perfectly honest with you. In my own case, it changed the way I could do things and what I could and couldn't say, but my base personality didn't really change. Same with the opposite, I heal faster than most would, but it only shows up to the nation proper if it's inflicted for that sort of reason.
Like, say, if I was doing something with someone and I was cut or bruised, it wouldn't affect anything but my physical self. But if I was revolting and am harmed in a fight about that, then it would show.
Because Japan must be kinky as hell.]I see. With other nations on board, I assume you must be careful with your interactions in them lest something happen back on Earth...?
You know, I'm not entirely sure considering that times seem to... vary on who is here and what year it is around here. Or even what world all of this exists in. Like America claims that it's two-thousand and eleven, my ex-husband claims nineteen fifty-five, and it was nineteen fifty-six last I had checked.
Clearly. This is just making life far more complicated than it needs to be.

Do you?

I have dabbled in helpful rituals in the past. Warding against destructive forces and the like.
