1st Gear - Video;

This is a request that if any other members of the Normandy crew have shown up here, they let me know. I'd like to know how many of us there are to work with.

[Not that she's the leading type, but it -- seems like it's going to be necessary, at least until Shepard shows up. She just has to have faith that Shepard will show up.]

[She clears her throat. She should probably say something to the rest of the people here, too.]

If any of you missed it, some of the remaining members of this ship's crew are answering questions here.

[Not that it's very informative. Still.]

I hope he isn't too late. All the action will start without him.

[She certainly believes action is going to happen, and probably sooner than later.]

We all know how much he hates that.

[ You'll never be better than Commander Shepard. He can do anythiiiing. ]

What do you make of all of this, so far?

I don't like it. You know how well our experiences with mostly-empty space vessels go.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're sitting on another threat to the galaxy. Who's up for saving it a third time?

The crew so far --

I'm not sure I trust them, Tali.

[She lets her head drop for a moment and the frown is obvious in her stance.]

Right now I'm not sure we have much choice. I don't think they're being completely honest with us, at least.

We don't have much choice, but it doesn't mean we have to take what they say at face value. What kind of Captain doesn't know his ship, or his crew?

And if they don't know how we got here, how would be in those -- Grav couches? And the ID numbers?

[ Shaking his head. :| ]

I just don't buy it.

I'm guessing he wasn't exactly the first up for that position.

[Or the 98th, really.]

If their ship's AI has developed sentience ... that would explain it.

[Why is it always organic-manipulating AI with you, Tali.]

He won't tell us much about the previous crew, either.

[ silence . . . ]

Yeah, I thought about that too.

We'll just have to be ready.

While the ship potentially watches everything we do, of course.

[More than likely including this post. Hnngh.]

Not exactly a comforting thought.

No hints of any indoctrination or anything Reaper-like, though. So far.

We need to be ready, but we can't jump to conclusions, either. [ A pause because this is so grim he doesn't want to have been kidnapped on board a Reaper :( ] You think we could find the engineering bay, try and figure things out?

You know I never say no to sneaking a peek at a new engine.

[Possibly an entirely new one. Depressing Reaper thoughts aside, that's kind of -- exciting.]

That's probably our best bet.

I don't trust the crew, but everyone else who's turned up here seems as lost as we are.

Some of them are just kids. It might be beneficial to get some outside insight.

Take care of the civilians, see who could be useful. There's all sorts on board, maybe with a bit of organization, we just might get somewhere.

There seem to be some plans for that in the works. That's a good sign, people wanting to cooperate.

Still have to be careful.

[ and he kind of doesn't like taking orders from people who aren't Shepard :| ]

I'm going to have a quick look around the ship, see what I can find. Maybe I can get something organized, myself, have people exploring and sharing information. We'll map this place out yet.

But we should meet up. [ A pause. ] Kasumi, too.

I think that's a good idea. Did your equipment make it here?

[She pauses. Not all of her weapons did, one assumes because they won't fit in the locker.]

Not all of mine did. Where did you want to meet?

My armor, a pistol. Not the AR or the my rifle.

[ CAN YOU HEAR UNHAPPY HE IS ABOUT THIS he loves his rifle :( At least he has his scope. ]

It's interesting that we have anything at all. Worrying, but also interesting.

Back with the lockers is the best option for now, isn't it? Until we can find somewhere else.

[She nods shortly.]

Nothing that doesn't fit in the locker, just like mine. I think that's as good a place as any to go.

I'll let you know what I find.

I've been thinking. Did you get your Omni-Tool through, with you?

All right. I'm actually going to go with -- one of their engineers -- down to the engine room itself.

Really? [ Tapping his fingers thoughtfully. ] Find out what you can. I've been asking about the ship's defense systems, that's where I'll be most useful, if they need the help.

I'm just trying to figure out a way for us to track the signal on these communicators on our own.

I thought of that. I'm hoping to be able to trace out my path to the engineering bay so that I can get down there again without an ... escort.

Do you want me to mention you? It will make us seem more trustworthy as a group.

[She ... pauses, as if she's not sure if she should say the next statement on her mind.]

With Kasumi here, we might need a little extra help. She's charming, but her -- compulsions could get her into trouble, and I don't want that.

[She likes Kasumi.]

I trust your judgement. If you think it'd help, go ahead, but I'd still be careful about keeping them at arm's length.

[ He's cool with Kasumi. Kind of. Shepard trusts her, that's good enough for him, not to mention they did just kind of all go through hell together and get out, that does wonders for bonding. ]

She told me she's willing to stay out of the way, but with her skills, she'd be better at exploring the ship than anyone else.

And she managed to keep out of trouble well enough, with Shepard.

[ THOUGH SHEPARD ISN'T AROUND NOW :( So he does sound a little uncertain. ]
