1st Gear - Video;

This is a request that if any other members of the Normandy crew have shown up here, they let me know. I'd like to know how many of us there are to work with.

[Not that she's the leading type, but it -- seems like it's going to be necessary, at least until Shepard shows up. She just has to have faith that Shepard will show up.]

[She clears her throat. She should probably say something to the rest of the people here, too.]

If any of you missed it, some of the remaining members of this ship's crew are answering questions here.

[Not that it's very informative. Still.]

And yet they're leaving so much unanswered.

[She smiles because it's nice to see non-humans]

They say it's because they don't know.

[That might be partly true, but she doesn't think it's completely so. People, in her experience, rarely tell the public the full story.]

Tali'zorah. Tali, if you'd rather.

Humans are rarely forthcoming with necessary answers. They stubbornly believe they can do everything themselves. I doubt those two are any different.

Tali. I've never seen that sort of suit before.

It seems that people are being brought here from different universes, so that's not all that surprising.

I'm quarian, if that sounds familiar at all.

[She doesn't look familiar, though, so she doubts the opposite will yield any different results.]

You'd think they'd go after Shep before any of the rest of us, but I haven't run across anyone else so far. I'll keep my eyes open.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know what use they have for the rest of us without Shepard, really.

Good to know you're here, Tali. [ uhhh ] Well, I'm sure you'd rather be back on the Normandy, but. You get my point.

[Oh, if a smile could be obvious through her mask.]

Better together than alone, even if it isn't all of us.

[ It's okay, Turian smiles look weird. But he's doing it anyway. ]

Now it's just a matter of getting by before Shepard gets here.

[ 'CAUSE HE WILL. DEFINITELY. UTMOST FAITH. ]

Well, it's not as if we don't have our own uses. But it is a strange group to collect, no matter how you look at it.

Some of the others here, though -- they seem young by human standards to be working on a space ship.

[Working as a quarian child -- after a certain age -- was fully part of the culture of the whole being more important than the individual, however.]

I hope he isn't too late. All the action will start without him.

[She certainly believes action is going to happen, and probably sooner than later.]

It's nice to know the proud tradition of human child labour is still alive somewhere in the multiverse. By which I mean, it's terrible, and I hope they find someone to look after the kids.

We all know how much he hates that.

[ You'll never be better than Commander Shepard. He can do anythiiiing. ]

What do you make of all of this, so far?

It's my understanding that so far, the people who seem to run this place aren't going to put them to work. There's that, at least.

I don't like it. You know how well our experiences with mostly-empty space vessels go.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're sitting on another threat to the galaxy. Who's up for saving it a third time?

So far, they seem mostly like decent people stuck in a hard situation. I don't know whether to be thankful or suspicious.

The crew so far --

I'm not sure I trust them, Tali.

[She lets her head drop for a moment and the frown is obvious in her stance.]

Right now I'm not sure we have much choice. I don't think they're being completely honest with us, at least.

I think so far that a mix of both is the best way to go.

We don't have much choice, but it doesn't mean we have to take what they say at face value. What kind of Captain doesn't know his ship, or his crew?

And if they don't know how we got here, how would be in those -- Grav couches? And the ID numbers?

[ Shaking his head. :| ]

I just don't buy it.

I'm guessing he wasn't exactly the first up for that position.

[Or the 98th, really.]

If their ship's AI has developed sentience ... that would explain it.

[Why is it always organic-manipulating AI with you, Tali.]

Are you planning to pitch in? Except for the kids, they appear to be quite insistent about everyone pulling their weight around here.

I think that getting my hands into the engine isn't going to be the worst thing for us -- I'll offer to help.
