[ For all that Emma tries not to brood, she missed space Christmas and news of Pan's curse has her feeling particularly sentimental. Reflective, even. And the prospect of losing her memories, losing her loved ones, only serves to remind her that sooner or later, they're all trying, in some capacity, to lose the people they've grown to care about aboard the Tranquility. ]

A friend of mine pointed out a while back that not everyone has a home to go back to at this point. Or one worse than what's here, whether that means they're dead or just some other kind of screwed.

[ Strangely, with Dean back now, she has to wonder if he'd say the same again. That staying on the ship, even as it is now, is better than the alternative for some. Getting a read on him is tougher now. It feels like she's missing pieces. ]

What about you? What's your best case scenario for whenever we figure out what the hell's going on here? Do you go home, forget all about it? Backtrack to Arima and set up shop?

Last time, did you see the shadow in the glow of the red light? There was someone there with us before we awoke.

I wonder if perhaps we can place cameras about, and conduct some espionage to see if the identity of this person might be found. Then if we can find them, we may be able to persuade them, one way or another to help us.

And I agree with you. If this idea holds no merit, then there will be others until a solution is found. Even if all we succeed in doing is to escape to another world and not to return home, it would be a far better fate than to remain here.

Cameras. You know, that's not a bad idea. Have you taken that to comms?

Not yet, no. But I believe I shall. I wish to know who that is who watches us while we sleep and can amange to survive each jump without being inside a pod.

That's a question we'd all like answered.
Let me know what comms has to say about the cameras. I'd be interested to know if it's something they've looked into trying.

May I ask what the best case scenario might be for you, Lady Swan?

You know... I've always wondered what coming home feels like.

One day, you will know it. As I recall, there are few experiences which can match it in sweetness and the relief one feels upon doing so.

Were you far from home before you were brought here, if I might ask?

I guess I was.

[ Prior to coming here, she wouldn't have known what the word meant. Being separated from her family, not knowing when she'd see them again ... and knowing she'd lose them entirely again? That's what made her really miss it, really accept that Storybrooke had always been her home. ]

Then you shall indeed feel what it is like to return.

( and so will she one day, maybe. if the two men vying to rule her kingdom might disappear entirely. )

All the same, I am glad to have been given the chance to meet you and so many others. I must wonder if the doctors here might be able to devise a method for us to retain our memories.

Be nice if they could. I don't know if that's a doctor thing so much as a jump thing, though. It happens if we get a vacation back home too.

Ah yes, I remember. A friend of mine left and returned and did not know my face at first when she did. I have heard it posited before that there may be something in that substance within our pods which is responsible for that and other things.

It seemed an odd idea at the time, but now that I think on it, it might be possible.

Could be. Worth having SCI run tests on it anyway. At this point, I'll take anything.
