Let's play a game. "It's called What Do We Actually Know, and What Do We Want to Know About the USS Gigantitude?" Or as you all like to call it, Tranquility.

Here's an example:

+ I KNOW that there are certain hallways that are off limits.
- I WANT TO KNOW what's behind those locked doors.
(and who's willing to break some rules with me to get those answers?)

+ I KNOW that a lot of us are from different places, and different times, and different ..worlds, apparently.
- I WANT TO KNOW what we all have in common, so we can figure out why we're here. This giant boat is obviously picky, why did we make it to the final round?

If I can't get home, then I wanna know why I'm here. Any ideas? No idiotic answers either, this is me trying to be serious for five minutes.

The only problem is that a lot of the rules aren't apparent until you've broken them. Nothing really happens, though. At least, I haven't been thrown in space orison for breaking and entering / trespassing yet.

Well, there doesn't seem to be a list of rules anywhere so I'm hardly going to follow them.

I've yet to break into anywhere but I have certainly trespassed. I want to know what's behind those locked down areas, just like you do.

Exactly. Not like there's cops on the ship, anyway. ...Actual space cops, I actually have no idea if anybody that's just shown up here is an officer of the law. Hm.

I'm starting to think we'll have better luck trying to get invited in, instead of breaking in. Maybe. Still haven't talked to anyone that's in charge here, so that might be harder than I think it is.

Asking if there is any law enforcement on board might cause an air of suspicion so I suppose if you had to find out, you'd need to be sneaky about it.

That man named Kirk seems to be a captain of a sort, at least back in his world. He was the one who decided to organise the search parties for the missing. He might know more about the locked down areas.

Not if we convince someone to act like they're interested in joining a group like that. ['we'. Wichita's jumping the gun on this teaming up thing, but. Whatever. She's starting to realize this isn't a one-woman job.] Though that would risk planting the idea of someone starting said group, so nevermind.

I'm Wichita. And um, honestly? I don't usually make a habit of working with anyone besides my sister. But with this, I'm willing to break a few personal rules to get some answers.

Hey, I don't like to work with anybody at all back home, unless it's for my benefit. Here is different though, like you said. Perhaps you and I could work together on a temporary basis? Both get the answers we need?

It's entirely up to yourself of course.

I'm definitely for it. Back home I'd usually just find the right person with the right information and work from there, but nobody knows a damn thing here, so. Guess it's time to switch up my game.

I had sources who knew other sources and so on. It was all about making connections or failing that, finding it out for myself.

I get that. Sometimes you just want to have some mystery about yourself.

Interesting. Total opposite for me - making connections wasn't ever in the cards.

It's less about mystery and more just like... Where I'm from it's easier to just not know names. Getting attached to someone you might have to gun down later isn't that great.

Have to say, your world doesn't sound like a lot of fun. And to be fair, if you had to kill someone in self defence, I'm not going to judge you for it. I'd do the same thing.

A bad cheeseburger. Wish I was kidding. It's an elevated strain of mad cow, and nobody could figure out how to cut it off before it spread all over the country, then most of the world. Not that I've been out of the States, but it's easy enough to assume it's no better no matter where you go.
