005 ♗ text
[ On pops the device – it’s text this time – as she isn’t truly in the mood to be talking to people – let alone facing them. (the girls sad, okay?) ]
I know the next jump is coming up fast, and we all need to be getting ready for that of course. But given the events that have been taking place, perhaps we can figure out a way to do a headcount before and after the jump?
Also, has anyone seen my friends? I arrived with them, and now they appear to be missing.
They were:
Arthur: 001 » 019
Eames: 001 » 193

The numbers are a way of identification, yeah. But with so many of us on the ship, it's really hard to keep track of - at least for us as the passengers I assume. [ a beat ] As far as the original crew? Who knows, they might know exactly where each and every one of us is at all times. I wouldn't be all too surprised if they’re watching us in some way now. [ which always has her sounding somewhat uneasy, as the unknown will always truly scare her in some way. ]
I personally think the more of us that stick together, the better. Least that way we should be able to find answers more.
voice;
And how much do you know about these people you want to stick together with?
voice;
Calmly: ] I know enough to know; there's a chance none of us are who we say we are, but that there is enough of a chance, that none of us asked to be here. So I'm willing to take the chance on assuming, we all are going to be as honest as we can - at least when it comes to finding a way out of this. [ a beat ] Which I know could possibly be silly on my part. But if there is a chance doing so, is going to get us home - wouldn't you want to take that chance?
voice;
Plenty of places where nobody asked to be there. It doesn't make them friends.
[If anything, it made them more desperate, more likely to stab each other in the back to get ahead.]
And I only take chances on myself.
voice;
I completely understand that. But given the situation, it seems like some concessions need to be made.
But..[ a beat, adding slightly disappointed: ] perhaps I'm just assuming too much about people though. I'd like to think everyone has something in them - no matter how deeply hidden - that can hold something good.
voice;
My experience, thinking like that just gets people killed.
voice;
I know there is a fine line people must tread when thinking like this. But if I'm not willing to think this way in some form, I don't think I'd be getting much accomplished here.
[ a beat and then she is adding: ] Are you not willing to try all you can to get back home?
voice;
[He isn't completely ignoring the point she's making, though. He is willing to try everything he can to get off the ship. That just didn't mean working with other people, not unless he really had to. It wasn't like he'd never done group efforts before. It was just most people, they either slowed you down or they couldn't keep up in the first place.]
voice;
Take it you have no plans on wanting off the ship then? [ she knew she was stretching there, as she assumed everyone wanted off. but trying to find just the right way to approach this man only seemed to be the wisest of things. she needed to start somewhere after all. ]
voice;
[He might not have a home - and he doesn't, despite her expectations, despite recently finding out who and what he is - but that doesn't mean he's looking for one. If he was, he definitely wouldn't choose a mystery ship that grabbed people randomly and stamped numbers on them.]
voice;
[ she knows she is assuming things, and even perhaps pushing a few buttons, but the need to try to understand his motivation with things seems to outweigh the need to be respectful fully. ]
voice;
[Though really, he's more concerned about being counted and tracked - whether it's by her, other passengers, or the supposed crew.]
voice;
[ it's a curious thing for her to know, and she knows she is prying a bit, but at least trying to understand the man seems like something she should at least try to do. ]
voice;
voice;
[ examples, the girl would like some examples. ]
voice;
[There's a note of frustration starting to tinge the edges of his words, now. He doesn't like this questions game.]
