[ The video was just going to flicker for a few moments before finally settling on a proper image. The image cleared to show a corner of a room. By the look of it, it was properly one of the upper levels that did'nt get many visitors. It looks like someone had made there own version of a nest, one of the mattresses from the bunkers pressed into the corner. There was even some rubbish littered around the place. The owner had clearly made there own private home. The video where it rested as Peter flopped himself down in front of it. His hair longer and possibly more wild since the last time he'd appeared on the video. His shirt was crinkled but more or less clean enough considering how long the last jump was.

Peter stared at the screen for a few moments before speaking.]

...I'm going to need a favor.

[ There was a little sigh at that as Peter reached up and slipped his hand behind his ear.]

And I hate asking for favors.

What? I've got connections!

[ Sort of. Look, it's nothing to be alarmed by, Peter. Gosh.

But what he's talking about is somewhat alarming. Darcy leans in toward her device slightly, brows knitting together. ]

Yeah sure, buddy. But... why do you need a tranq gun for that? You're not going to come willingly?

Darcy Lewis. The woman with Black Market connections.

[ He's trying to deflect with humor. Even if it's crap humor. There's another little sigh at that.]

No. I need the tranq gun for the time between when the change happens and when you drag me back.

Short version? There's going to be big black wolf stalking the halls in a few days.

[ Darcy quickly looks away from the lens again, this time reaching for something that rattles about noisily. ]

Holy shit. [ She looks at the screen again, awestruck. ] You're a werewolf!

[ Peter's just staring over at the screen at that, shifting a little before giving a nod. God knows Peter has trust issues.]

Yeah.

[ There's a little sigh at that before he nodded again.]

That's exactly what I am.

I thought it was some hazing bullshit when I was told there were werewolves aboard!

[ Right. Not important. Darcy shakes her head quickly, refocusing on the task at hand. ]

I'm on double comm duty, but I should be able to take my equipment with me. Just tell me what I need to do, and I'll do it. You shouldn't have to do this alone.

No. That's an actual thing. The werewolf part, not the hazing. Only most of them have abs and CW hair.

[ Peter's eyebrows were going to arch up a touch at the others words.]

You joined Comms? [ Peter does'nt have a job. Look how he lives. Look at his choices.]

You know you don't have to do this. It's not pretty. And that's putting it lightly. It's...gross.

Mainly. Really gross.

I joined Commander Shepard's URD squad. Though officially joining Communications might not be too far behind. We'll see.

[ She flashes her arm to the camera briefly to prove that she hasn't got a designation in front of her number. See? Still gainfully unemployed, just doing ill-advised volunteer work. Ever an intern. ]

Of course I don't have to. But I want to. If I don't, who's going to? [ A beat. ] Well, I mean, you probably have other friends who'll step up to the plate. But that doesn't mean I should just wait for someone else to agree to it! I can handle gross.

Look at you, I'm actually impressed.

[ Peter gave a little whistle even as he noted the total lack of a sign in front of her number. Well, at least he's not totally alone in the unemployed life. At least for the moment. ]

I think it's just impressive you think I have other friends. [ There's a little smile at that as he chuckled.] I think the state of my place sort of tells you how many visitors I get. [ He mused as he waved his hand around the little corner he'd carved out for himself.]

You're going to see me naked. [ He pointed out with grin. Hey, if she wants to say no after that. Well, he's giving her an out.]

I do what I can.

[ Or as little as she can. Unemployment and all. ]

I told you, dude, you've got the best place for a party. I will bring the party to you.

[ It's a... full moon party??? Okay, no. But if he wants to deflect the severity of the situation with humor, she can answer in kind and he can't stop her. Unless he hangs up on her.

But wait. Did he say naked? Darcy's eyes get big, like he's just said there'll be cake. ] Oh man! I usually have to pay for that sort of entertainment!

Even if it's answering calls and...Yeah. All right. I'm not totally clear on what comms agents actually do.

[ Peter just shrugs. He's not exactly a big workaholic himself.]

Does this party involve us stealing some pot from the labs for said party?

[ You should never have a full moon party, besides it's not always needed for the change. But he's grateful enough that she's making jokes. It's not an easy thing to share with anyone. Talking about it with anyone is'nt the easiest thing in the world.]

I'm fairly sure seeing me naked in this case is going to put you off sex for life Darcy. You don't know what I mean by gross. It's hella gross.

I'm not totally sure either, but I operated a twenty line phone system for a university call center once. How hard can it possibly be?

[ As to his question, she's quick to offer a sly grin. ] It could. It totally, totally could. [ Great friend, great influence. Let's steal some space-pot and get baked before you turn into a potentially incredibly dangerous predator! What could possibly go wrong? Nothing. Nothing at all. ]

You are vastly underestimating my desire to ever have sex, dude. There's no way whatever happens to you will cure that itch.

[ Somehow she makes it sound less like flirting and more like a statement of fact. Isn't she talented? ]

I never actually went to university. So, I think I'd be impressed if you said a ten line phone system. Then again, I can steal your wallet without you even noticing. Life skills trumps university.

[ Peter pointed out with a little shrug before he chuckled at that sly grin on the others face.] Oh yeah? Well, if it does. If it just happens to fall into my little home. I can hardly be blamed for smoking it. Can I? [ The best sort of influence. He's not that shocked actually. Considering his normal post-transformation ritual was laying in bed all day and getting baked. Regrowing all your skin is a bitch.]

See? You say that now but once my eyes pop out. I'm fairly sure you'll singing a different tune.

[ It's impressive that it sounded less flirty. Not that Peter can't flirt. He's totally flirty. He's the flirtmaster.]

Thank you. Though, really.

Don't be so dramatic. Your eyes aren't gonna pop out!

[ ...Right? ]

They're not, right? Has that happened? I don't have to pop them back in again, do I?

Whatever. I can totally hold your eyes in. I've got this! [ Haaa ha ha ha... ]

[ He's just going to stare over her for a few moments before he scratches the back of his head for a moment.]

I think you underestimated what I meant when I said gross.

[ He's just holding up his hands at that as he laughed.]

Woah. No...holding my eyes in. Trust me. That sort of takes care of it's self. But yeah, my eyes pop out. Flesh melts off.

Again, you can back out.

[ Darcy doesn't make any attempts to completely internalize her reaction this time. She lets him see that she does have to pause a moment and think, because what he's describing is legitimately horrifying, and she thinks he ought to see that she isn't just laughing it off and ignoring the implications of it. ]

No. No. I'm gonna do it. If it's really that bad, then I mean it, you shouldn't have to be alone. I'm not gonna let you be alone. [ She looks back up at the screen, then directly into the camera so as to best simulate that she's truly looking at him. ] I lost a friend this jump, and I couldn't do anything about it. I can do something about this. I'm not backing out.

[ At least she's actually thinking about it. It's a little more comforting that she's actually thinking about it. Getting hit with a bus is more fun than what he has to go though, his change is unique. Even among the other werewolves.]

Only if you're sure Darcy. I know I sound like a broken record right now but...I've seen horror movies less gross then what happens when the wolf comes out.

On the plus side, it shouldn't hurt you. [ He added after a moment, even if he can't always control it. The wolf might actually know who Darcy is. So there's an upside to being...sort of friends.] Who did you lose? [ Peter asked after a moment, a little curious. Since Peter himself never really connected with that many people on the ship.]

[ It isn't so much that Darcy is tired of arguing or insisting, but that she's had some of the urge to be over the top about it drained out of her in this moment of seriousness. Instead of more vocal assurance, all Peter gets is a nod. Yes, she's sure. ]

Jane. My friend. She arrived with me, but she... It's like she disappeared. I guess that's supposed to be normal around here.

[ He's just going to let it drop at that nod then. Right. Good. At least someone will be here to drag his exhausted naked body back to whatever the nearest bed is. ]

The scientist? Yeah. They...People come and go. Sort of a drag at times. I mean, I don't really have anyone to come sliding out of the tanks for me. So. Those jumps don't mean as a much for me.

Yeah, that's her. I hear that people disappear all the time, but... We arrived together, and I'm still here. I thought- [ She shakes her head and frowns. ] Doesn't matter. I can't change it.

You've got me now. So, there's that? [ Look, she's trying to make things suck less. Even if she's not great at it. ]

It's not like they chose to go Darcy.

[ At least he's gathered that much. Peter stares into the video for a few moments before he nodded a few times.] All right. You can watch. Just get that gun.

And don't crowd me when it happens. I'm glad I have you.
