[ VIDEO. ] never seen one without the other(s).
[ the feed starts to complete blackness — it resolves itself into a clearer picture of a leather uniform once aramis steps back, though he also just so happens to be upside down. at least aramis has learned enough in his days aboard the tranquility so far that he notices and fixes it a moment later, leaving it lopsided, but the right way around.
he steps back a little further, coming to stand next to porthos. they are both armed, swords strapped to their sides, and not in the ship's jumpsuits but rather in their leather uniforms.
aramis holds a pistol, considering it. his voice is thoughtful. ]
They do say I am quite good with these.
[ porthos, for his part, is still staring suspiciously at the sleek looking square on his end. but he lets up long enough to add - ]
Finest in all of France, I’d wager. The better to serve their Majesties, King Louis XIII and Queen Anne.
[ it’s a spiel they’ve been through before. aramis’ eyes narrow. ] Speaking of their Majesties — if they are here as well, rest assured that we will find them and not look kindly on anyone who has committed treason and harmed them.
[ there’s a gruff hemm of his throat, before porthos adds; ] And if you’ve done likewise with two men who go by Athos and D’Artagnon, it may not be treason, but we’ll be looking just as unkindly.
[ aramis smiles at that, cheerful almost despite the dangerous edge to it. ] To those who are likewise captives, we swear to aid you where we can.
[ and he tips his head. ]
( blue is aramis, black is porthos! musketeers in space, aw yeah!! )

She appears to be seated, the phone/camera set on a table in front of her. She's only in the frame from chest up, in a purple t-shirt with hair in a ponytail that's fallen forward over her shoulder. She plays it pretty cool, excitement contained into a friendly smile. ]
You wouldn't happen to be the King's Musketeers, would you? I'm afraid I haven't met your friends or your king and queen, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you. And if you ever need a third set of hands, I'm an excellent shot.
video
( aramis offers a smile because — she is young and beautiful, does he really need more reason for it than that? but she also does not seem to be one of their captors, but rather a fellow captive, and aramis has already come to the conclusion that many here know more about the ship and the world they find themselves in than he could possibly fathom knowing, so it makes sense to extend them a certain measure of trust. )
Aramis, and Porthos, at your service.

Four hundred years. [That's a lot to take in. There's also a little nudge in Aramis' side offscreen.] They're still talking about us in four hundred years?
[Forgive him for being a tiny bit proud of that.]

So you found a friend.
Of the royalty who is here, I do not know those names - nor the names of your other friends, I am sorry. Should I hear of them, I will tell you at once.
I do not think you mentioned your own names, however.
video
( he's still puzzled by the ears, frankly, but it seems rather impolite to ask, and he does owe her for the information she's provided. )
I am Aramis, of the King's Musketeers.

[It's said without the usual tone of Aramis having met someone before, instead more along the lines of trying to sort out who could be a potential friend in this new place.]

I think we're all pretty much captives. [ not that she likes to think of herself and everyone she knows as captives, but, that's what they are. ]

I greet you well, sirs. As of yet, I do not believe your monarchs have graced the corridors of this vessel.
But I do most appreciate your most.. gallant offer. [ she sits straighter, tipping her chin up in a manner as regal as their queen most surely shares. ]
I am Elizabeth Plantagenet, daughter His Grace King Edward IV. And I welcome you to the Tranquility.
video;
( right; it has been mentioned that there are individuals from different times, but it is still surprising to have someone here related to someone he has at least heard of.
aramis bows, though he does not take his eyes off the camera as he does it. ) Your Highness.

I fear you may be right.

he still hasn't quite gotten used to the controls of the communicator, so the picture is probably only showing half of his face, but of what is visible, it's clear that merlin is a pleasant sort of person by the easy smile on his face. also, a curious boy.]
I don't remember hearing about any King Louis... where is France?

( how is it that people here do not know a country as fine as france? ) Are you, too, from another world?

No kings here, M'sieur. Not French ones, at any rate.
[He's rather happy with that situation all things considered]
Video
( that means king and queen remain safe in france — but it also means captain treville is missing two of the musketeers meant to protect them.
and more than that — it means aramis is very far from the woman carrying his unborn child, even if he will never be able to acknowledge his son. )

[ that was almost amusing, boys. in an aww how cute kind of way. ]

I am glad to learn that you have found a friend here, still it is unfortunate that he is now trapped here just the same as you or I. [She tilts her head politely towards Porthos, whom she has not met yet.]
I would not know if your King or Queen are aboard, or either of your other two friends, as I at least have not heard those names before. But I am sure that if they are here, you shall reunite soon.
video;
Thank you for your information. And for the aid, earlier.

[Really, he should be used to hearing familiar names this way, but the history professor in hi just won't stop being starstruck.]
If your marksmanship and your offer are as good as you say, perhaps you should look into enlisting with Security.
