[On comes the video feed, to show one (1) Booker DeWitt. His collar is a little undone and his sleeves are rolled up higher than usual due to the heat, but that's not the reason why he's addressing everyone today. The issue of the temperature and people seeing "shadows" doesn't escape him, but he figures he'll be keeping an eye on network posts for any development in those departments.

Right now, he has something else on his mind, and as always he gets straight to the point.]

Got a question for the people on this ship with -- [what's the proper phrasing to use? Even though he's the one asking it still sounds awkward leaving his lips] --unusual abilities. Does this place seem to affect them in odd ways, such as some of them not even workin' at all?

[Oh, and those watching might also notice Booker's left hand and part of his forearm, which is smattered with patches of sprouting black feathers and nails that have grown into long black talons. Yeah.

Even as he speaks, he's shaking out the aforementioned limb with an annoyed grimace, and it begins to revert back to its everyday appearance of a normal human arm.]

Or is it just me?

No, from what I could tell they were all marketed to give a specific ability. Had fancy bottles and everything. Can't say I actual read the labels all too closely, though, so I couldn't tell you what was in it.

[ Well, yes, but things like say, water, are also a drink, it's very broad. ]

[ Because that doesn't sound legal to him, just a bit, maybe. Then again, skewed ideas of everything, really. ]

Sure they were. They even had a big display, advertising them, in the middle of some fair I was passing through when I was visiting.

That definitely means they weren't, there's— They would have had them in a shop and not in the middle of a fair if they were. [ A pause. ] And you just drank one. Didn't seem like a bad idea at the time?

They had vendors, too. The fair was advertising the newer ones, I guess. "Possession".

[And, uh. No. Booker wasn't really thinking things through at that particular moment. Or a lot of moments during his time in Columbia.]

I didn't see the harm in it at the time. Hell, didn't think it would even work; thought it was just another example of someone sellin' snake oil.

Possession, that sounds like something I'm just dying to drink.

[ Sarcasm at its finest, to be honest. Complete with jokes only Nico finds fine. ]

And now you have almost harpy hands.

[Booker's no stranger to sarcasm, nor is he particular ruffled by it.] When you're the one doing the possessing, it can be more helpful than you'd think.

[Pft. Well.] Only occasionally.

And it's very clear it's you doing the possessing by drinking it. Not that someone's going to possess you after they make you drink it.

Only occasionally as opposed to never. I can see why you don't mind, it's not like they'll just pop up at inconvenient times or anything like that.

Hey, if a cosmetic side-effect is the only side-effect, I'll deal with it. It can always be a hundred times worse.

You mean the risks? [ Not that he can really judge, but that doesn't mean he can't also think they're a little stupid. ]

You could be dead or cursed to never die. [ Right, going to pretend he didn't say that. ] Dealing with it is asking us about our own potential problems with things like that?

[He ignores the first question in favor of the second. So judgmental!!!]

'Cursed to never die'. That's specific. [Which in turn answers his question. Yes. That's how he's dealing with it.]

[ It's an easy thing to judge, mister!!!! ]

It's the worst thing a lot of people can think about if you really think about it. [ Read: Anyone who actually thinks about being immortal beyond woo never dying. ] Most people don't call that dealing with it.

[ This is the one time he's not judging and is really trying to sound as if he's stating a fact more than anything else. ]
