[ scott doesn't have much to contribute on the theory side of things, but there is one minor mystery that's been bugging him since he got here. ]

Is the pot in the gardens up for grabs?

[ and no, not bothering with anon. it's already everywhere (or seems like it is, but that might have something to do with a heightened sense of smell), it's basically legal back home, and his mom isn't exactly around to be disappointed. he somehow doubts she'd hold it against him in space anyway. that said, manners: ]

Also I'm glad everyone's feeling better after last month. Or I guess just not bleeding from our faces, it's still kind of weird.

I could get a list of stuff to definitely not touch from Derek? Or the garden guy. Just so I don't accidentally use something that's poisonous to everyone.

If they know anything about normal plants they'll know about stuff like mistletoe anyway. I guess not any weird alien plants, though. But the Agricultural Department most know plants, right? Like boy scouts

[ tone doesn't carry via text, obviously, but it's more casual than his usual observations. derek fussing over his pack (or not pack, scott has no clue anymore) isn't exactly news. the follow-up might make the tone clearer, though. ]

[ more like ouch. scott should know better by now, but he still never really expects the backlash. there's a flash of something a bit like frustration, too, because he's been dealing with plenty - and isaac should know that, know what they all went through.

but he doesn't. scott certainly hasn't given him all the details, anyway, so it's stupid to expect him to understand. that said, it's still enough to make the response a bit less enthusiastic than usual. ]

Consider it an open invitation in case that ever changes, then.

[he knows he isn't being fair. that he's placing blame on scott's shoulders that he doesn't deserve. (derek doesn't either. but that's a whole other issue). but while he may know he's in the wrong, acting on that knowledge isn't working. it's easier to stick with anger and keeping his distance than to try and fix things. which is why, all he finally sends through is a simple-]
