I do not know, signore. I think I have humored my own thoughts for too long and I cannot expel them with sleep as it is no longer my companion.

Or perhaps you've humored too many thoughts of others. That last ordeal was not pleasant for anyone.

And there is yet another worry to be had. How many on board humor my own thoughts?

Many, if my own experiences are any indication. It's unfortunate for those of us who thrive in secrets.

History books told all of mine.

I believe we're both well aware how history books can lie, Signorina.

We are. We also know how many swallow the lies as if they were the sweetest of candy.

And at that point, you simply prove them wrong. The only thing sweeter than deception is convincing someone everything they thought they knew was a lie. You needn't lie yourself to make them doubt.
