[It's been a long time since Meg has done something so public. She mostly just brings up things with others when they decide to show their face on the network. It's not even anger that fuels her right now. She's ticked off, sure, but that's just at the thought that still people were siding with the whole 'demon' thing instead of what she actually had been accomplishing here.]

[She's not healing. Not as quickly as she expected, at least. It's possible that it's the ship. That she's just worn out her welcome with the body that's been reconstituted at her request. One little spill into holy fire and a bit of torture -- one would think she'd be able to handle this easier.]

[Her eye isn't swollen shut at least. Bruised, yes. Lacerations look worse than they feel, the split lip is where her current aggravation is, and all the ice in the world won't get rid of the swollen state of her jaw. The rest of her is equally banged up, but she's not doing a full-frontal thing here.]

You know what I really hate? [Given that she could bring up a dozen things that have something to do with her getting summoned and then beat to hell... instead she goes the opposite route.]

When you bite the inside of your lip, it swells up, and then you spend all that time trying hard not to bite the swollen spot, but you can never manage it. You bite it again and again. It just keeps reopening, the blood keeps tinting everything you eat.

Even worse is when you figure it's almost healed and then you bite down on it even harder than the first time around.

[She frowns.] Oh, if anyone has any straws -- I'm looking for some. This split lip is a real bitch to try and drink anything.

[It's difficult to not mention Jo and what happened. To make her into the villain for a change, but it's not worth it. People know Jo. They'll side with her over a demon pretty easily. She's sure of that. For all that everyone says that what happened back home stays there -- she knows it's all just something we tell each other so we can sleep better at night.]

Uh. Did something happen that I need to know about?

[ Even if he has a really good idea, and guess what? Now he's pissed. ]

That you need to know about? [She looks thoughtful for a moment.]

Yeah, you're real good at that, aren't you? [It's a jab at the fact that he couldn't leave well enough alone. He asked all the questions, got all the answers, and then didn't understand anything that she'd told him.]

Just ask a bunch of questions and then take the answers and do whatever you want with them.

What's that supposed to mean? I didn't do anything.

Good. Perfect. Keep not doing anything. [She's good with that.]

Dammit. I'm trying to ask if you're gonna be okay.

[ He doesn't need this passive aggressive attitude from everyone. ]

[She runs her hand through her hair, sighing as she does so. It just shows more of the bruises and marks, but she doesn't actually care.]

Then just ask if I'll be okay. [a beat] I will be. I'll heal, it's just taking longer than usual.

Why? [ He doesn't say anything about the way she looks, arms crossed as he stares at her for a while. Bells has a lot more he wants to ask, but he figures it can wait another time. ] How long have you been like that?

A day. [She sighs again, the actual breathing not doing anything beneficial for her, but it still at least feels okay.]

It's probably because I'm here on this ship instead of back where ... everything important is.

I haven't put much thought into it. [she shrugs.] I'll either heal fast or not fast.

If it's gonna be a while, you should get someone to look at it then. Can't be all that fun looking like the fuck's been beaten out of you.

[okay, so perhaps he shouldn't be having conversations with strangers in general. especially those who look like they've been fighting. or those talking openly about blood.

If you numb it with ice first, it should be easier to eat. And if medical don't have anything to put on it, you can use honey. If you want.

If I have someone look at it, they'll ask the same questions you did and I'm kinda done with people thinking they have reasons to do dumb things.

[New faces aren't a bad thing. She's pretty sure she's seen this one before. Maybe with Boyd... or talking to Stiles at some point in one of his broadcasts. She does appreciate the tips.]

I would think honey would be full of sugar and things you don't really want in open wounds.

[she lets out a huff of amusement.]

Most of us are lying. [all of them are lying, truthfully.]

There are just very few that will actually try to do something about it. I lucked out and had a bit of payback dealt to me.

In fact, I'm pretty sure Security's the only group of people who say that, and that's just because we've got no evidence or reason to go locking up everyone on hearsay.

[ There's a pause, John exhaling heavily. ]

But on the ship, no matter what you did back home, you're not at fault. Which means whoever did this is.

[ Which means he'd like a name kthx. ]

[Dean already brought her in. At least, he's supposed to. She's not sure if he'll stall... well, she's pretty sure he'll stall. Either way, she figures it'll get handled.]

I'll heal. [She smirks, another amused sound coming from her - this time slightly smug.] Told you I was made of stronger stuff.

[ He still wants to know. ]

Not fast enough.

[She laughs, which probably splits her lip again, but eh...]

Oh, you should've seen me yesterday. [She was a mess.] Not as pretty as I am now.

Not fast enough, [ he repeats. For someone who heals almost instantly, it really isn't. Not with what he can do. ]
