Contacting him, using all sorts of encryptions and methods. Going over the Network post by post, trying to find a way to get him to respond and meet me in person. It doesn't work.

Saying the captain runs this ship is like saying God runs North America. Like religion, you can dedicate yourself to something you're never gonna see, or else you can just get on with running yourselves. One guess which one gets you somewhere.

He's not going to talk to you. He never talks to anyone.

[ sulu's voice is quiet, solemn. ]

It seems as though you've already been told that there is no possible way to find or speak to Captain Ward. You may try looking for him in the bridge, but I assume that he has not already been found there.

Neither the Captain nor his commander have contacted the network recently, and I believe that is the only way you will get a chance to speak with them.

'Course it can. We just have to try harder.

[Because what this mission needs is a bit of optimism and a never say die spirit. She can supply both of those things, but she's not entirely sure that's what he needs right now.]

What if there isn't a captain, though? What if whatever's pulling the strings is a bit more, oh I dunno, Biblical? Not that I think it's the devil doing any of this, but it could be something like it.

[And she's not looking forward to a repeat performance.]
