[ the camera turns on to show gwen holding a sword that is sheathed, the handle basic yet beautifully crafted, well made.] The events as of late have made it clear that we may need to defend ourselves from those we do not know. Enemies outside of our ship and... well, erm, perhaps the monsters that lay within. [ space rats.]

[ she pulls the blade from it's sheath to show her work, smiling softly as she lays it down and addresses the camera once more.]

I would like to offer my services to those who are in need of a sword. My father was a blacksmith and taught me his trade- [ cue a sadder sort of smile.] I can also make smaller blades. I only ask that you use them to defend yourselves and not on one another. We must work together to protect our temporary home. I share a forge with Fili and Kili, who are also master craftsmen.

[ awkward pause.]

But madame, you should know I would lend you my aid in the future if you needed it, regardless of whether or not you made a sword for me. To do otherwise would be churlish in the extreme! However, I was thinking perhaps... I could make or fix something mechanical for you, if you wish it. I'm good with technology and I work in the engineering department, after all!

[ Oh, sweet Albert. She's not sure what most of that is. But she smiles.] Oh! Erm... what sort of things do you make?

Most simple mechanical things, if they're not too complicated. Back home I used to make toy cars and boats and wind-up birds and the like. Computers too, but short of your communication device malfunctioning, I can't see you've much need for another one... I used to repair my friends' cars sometimes, but we've none of those here either.

In any case, if it's mechanical I can probably make or fix it. Well, unless it requires like... astrophysics or something, haha.
