Hi, I am looking for a really good person to be a best friend for my good friend, orange Dave! He's an asshole but he's pretty nice, and he has lots of friends like me and Rose and Jade, but one of his bestest friends died a long time ago, and it is really hard to be good enough. So I am taking applications for a new best friend for him. Rose and Jade don't have to apply, but you can if you want! And the rest of you can go meet him yourself later, but he's really nice.

But I don't mind if you complain! Rose does it all the time. It just means you care and stuff, right?

Well, yeah, but I also remember being a kid and I hated when adults complained to me.

[Rory laughs and reaches out to pat "Leo's" head]

I just wanna do stuff that we can do together. Like... do robots fly kites? Or collect coins? Kick vending machines when they don't give them their soda?

I do fly kites, but there's not much of a breeze in a ship.

What sort of things do you like to do? Maybe if you tell me I'll find something I like to do too, and then we can do it together.

I can find a breeze.

So if you want to fly kites, we could! But we don't have to. I really like watching movies, though, and I know they have a big fat library here.

Really? Now that sounds like fun. I wonder if they have Ghostbusters...

I hope they have all the movies! And their sequels! Ghostbusters 2 was totally awesome, and then we need to watch Ghost Dad because that is totally appropriate, and then maybe Armageddon because that is even more awesome if that is even possible and Con Air, because that's awesome, and there are so many great movies out there.

Maybe Terminator in honor of hanging around a real robot?

The sequels were better than the original, I think.

I wonder if they have alien movies, too... I mean, there are a lot of aliens here.

Hey, want to look for snacks first? You really can't watch a movie without snacks.

You can't eat snacks, so it'd be really weird if I ate them...

Hm, true, but it just wouldn't be any fun if you DIDN'T have snacks, and I haven't had fun in a long time...but...if you insist...

You can't put it like that! That's really unfair! I mean, I want you to have fun, but then I can eat and you can't and that really sucks for you and you are not being very fair at all.

I think it's a perfectly reasonable request.

It's not like I don't eat! I eat so much, I think I feel full right now even though I have not eaten that much since I came here.

But eating in front of you seems kinda sickgross, to me, when you miss it and stuff. Being a robot is hard.

But I won't miss it if I get to see someone enjoying all those snacks; it'll be like I'M eating it all.

Are you sad about becoming a robot?

[Rory actually stopped walking and sighed]

Sometimes. I mean, I'd rather be a robot than dead, but this means I'll be alone now because humans die and machines don't. I survived 1800 years so far without any problem...how long after all my friends are gone will I still be around.

[For a long moment he was distracted by the hum of the engines and sounds of people walking around the ship. That was a lot of life, but for how long? What if whatever took the original crew came back?]

I'll still be around? [ He sounds almost curious, not about the fact that he'd still be around, but about Rory's fate. He isn't very much on big motions, but he does put a hand on his arm, resting it lightly. ]

I can't die, anyway, so I'll be around. And maybe you can make lots of robot friends. And maybe one day, we can just send Bruce Willis bot to take care of all those dangerous space things, and we don't have to be so sad when we're suddenly Liv Tyler and even though she's really good lookin' and stuff, it really sucks when you lose your Bruce Willis. That didn't make any sense at all except I'm really sorry.

[He felt really stupid unloading this feeling on a child. Shaking his head and grinned and continued to walk]
