[ York's a lot more subdued than he normally is when he appears on the network. He's been thinking a lot about his conversation with Wheatley about the apparent jealousy of the ship's AI. He'd taken it for granted for too long that D had been left behind. ]

All right, so, here's the thing. I've been looking for someone every jump, someone who was real close to me. His name's Delta. So happens he's an AI. An AI who lives on a data chip that was physically implanted in my body. See, in my way of thinking, that makes it a little different from him just being missing, okay. Whoever brought all of us here, had to take his chip out of my neck and put it somewhere. And the more I think about it, the more I don't want it just lying around here somewhere.

Point is, I know there's a search party forming to find some of the people who have disappeared. I've got skills that can help you, if you're all willing to help me look for D. If you're in on that whole that whole thing let me know if that sounds like a good deal.

I don't even want to think about that. I mean...they must have thought he was valuable in some capacity, or they wouldn't have pulled him.

Who even are "they", huh? We all just showed up here, right? I mean, unless there's some kinda secret crew that's hand-picking everyone and teleporting them here and pulling out AI chips and then stuffing people in pods... And somehow we've never met any of them or heard about it? I guess it's not completely impossible, but it doesn't sound real likely.

Of course, I don't really have another explanation for why the chip's missing.

I'm sure you're concerned, but look at it from a safety standpoint. I can't imagine the people who brought us here would think it entirely safe for you to have an AI implanted in you. Unless you're suffering without him, maybe it's for the best.

[Even if, you know, Nyreen would still ultimately look out for an AI if she had to. Even if they're likely to destroy the universe. And ruin everything you love.]

Well, I don't know if suffering is the right word. But we pretty much shared a headspace for three, four years. I think that proves having him was pretty safe.

[Even on an alien face, a bit of mild surprise should be easy enough to read. What she knows of AIs is basically that they're trouble - lots of it - and every self-respecting turian should be careful. What this human is saying seems fairly counter-intuitive to that, admittedly.]

Not too terrible, no. It took some getting used to at first but...well, you know how people use the expression 'my better half'? It was literally like that.
