i've noticed crew members talking on the network about wanting to go out to explore the deeper parts of the ship, so i thought i'd reach out here - how many of you would be interested in going out as a search party for *people*, instead of places? so far three people we thought were lost for good have actually been here on the ship this whole time, what if there are more? what if none of the passengers we've lost have actually gone home? the ship is impossibly huge, isn't it? i know it's a long shot, and i know it's a lot to ask, but i can't shake the feeling that there might be more people lost out there and need help getting back. and i'd like to leave as soon as we wake up from the next jump. no plans are set in stone just yet, but i'd like to get a headcount of those that would be interested in helping me.

i know i should have run all this by you before posting a transmission, but it's cutting close to jump time, so. there's that. am i crazy for wanting to do this? you can say yes. but i'd really you much rather give me the okay to do this because i can't tell you how much it's been bothering me since we all got back from finding the genetics labs.

thank you! wow, i was kind of expecting the first response to be much different than this.

We've already got a system in place for search parties.
But doing this you're going to get people freaked out over disappearances.
We know people go home cause they remember it when they come back.
The three this cycle were anomalies.
The first two weren't here.
The third was contained.

I lost somebody important. If she's still here, I'm going to try to get her back.

people can believe what they want. maybe i shouldn't have said they're all still here, but there might still be some here and that's the important part. a lot of people come back with no memories of this place at all. but what about the ones who get lost on the ship and still haven't come back? we're supposed to expect that they're home and hope for the best? who do you mean by the 'first two'? you're saying the two boys that returned weren't actually on the ship?

i'm sure it doesn't need to be said, but i can't make any promises. i don't have any proof beyond the fact that we found someone in the labs. i guess that's just enough for me to wonder if there are more. i wouldn't turn one away, that's for sure. i'd rather not use my gun if i can help it.

I don't know what to think anymore. Things don't add up, and I'm not going to pretend they do. I'm used to some pretty bizarre shit, so I won't discount anything.

after what just happened, i don't think anybody will be rushing out into the parts of the ship we don't know yet. that's why i asked. why would they panic? and i know it's possible to go home, i've gone home i'm saying i don't believe that's the case for everyone anymore, not now that we've seen people that were still here even after we thought they left as far as i know, we usually determine if someone is off-ship by the fact that their network communicator isn't connected anymore, right? the man that was in the labs, and the two boys that returned asking for ward, both were disconnected but they were all here this whole time that's all i'm saying how could it hurt to go look for more people?

at this point i would rather take a look around. maybe there's nobody out there, maybe we've found the only one that was trapped, and the boys were the only two that were ever actually lost on the ship instead of taken back home somehow. but there's no way of knowing for sure until we take another look around ourselves. either way.

Because they can assume everyone that's disconnected is still here.
Maybe people they gave a shit about.

It can hurt if you get lost.
If the corridors fuck up again.
If you find manticores or rats.
Or end up just like them.

They said no one could find them where they were.

it just feels wrong, after the past few weeks, to not take the possibility into consideration. it goes hand in hand with wanting to keep everyone safe. if there's people out there... we can prepare for that. didn't Jenna just go into the ship with someone? they came back. and isn't it worth the risk if we do find people? did anyone honestly go look? we thought they died.

Much as I'd like to agree, Raven, the chances of people still being alive, wandering around the ship, are-- well, they're tiny. And the risks of going out there are incredible.

This isn't consideration.

[But it's been weird since they were lost. The ship is big, and can mess with people, and they've always known that, more or less. But being lost like that for what felt like might end up being forever-- that changes things. A little. Or at least it makes you think.]

i'm getting really tired of waiting around to get a thumbs up from someone ( or something ) we can't even see this place never gives us answers, so i think we have to start looking for them, that's all including what happened to the people that got lost on the ship and never came back and maybe even what happened to the original crew

This sounds like something that should be planned within security, not the entire ship.
