Sign some documents I'll prepare. I'll have to sit with you and ask you a few questions, as I'm not altogether familiar with the details of the law under which you were married, but it should be simple enough. The procedure of a few weeks and no more.

No thanks are necessary. I'd be glad to see you formally parted from this - unsavory individual. With all formal documents to prove you are not beholden to him in the least.

[That's a mention which does trigger certain memories from histories he'd read...But it's of no consequence; he dismisses that at once.]
