( THREE : VIDEO : HELLHOUNDS 101 )
[ when the feed turns on, you're greeted by one hunter+angel combo, namely dean and cas. dean looks alive!! the same as he always does, arms crossed and ready to dish out his lovely personality.
and today's subject? let him clear his throat. ]
So. Hellhounds.
[ yeah, no wasting time today, this shit is serious. ]
Some of you might know 'em as demonic sons of bitches from Hell, meant for hunting and draggin' souls downstairs. There's nothin' cute or cuddly 'bout 'em unlike some people seem to think. [ trust him, those fuckers are not pets, not unless you're a demon. ] Which is why we think it's only fair everybody on board knows exactly what's takin' this space cruise with us. [ why yes, there is a hellhound on board the tranquility. it's not only space monsters that thirst for fresh blood and souls around here. ]
So if you ever find yourself needing to gank one of 'em while it's trying to turn you into meatloaf, we've got a couple tips for you on how to avoid your chew toy fate.
[really now dean. wouldn't it be better to focus on the more important parts of this transmission instead of just trying to scare everybody?]
There are a limited number of ways to protect yourself from attack. Those of you who were here during the demon invasion may remember [us] me telling you about the uses of salt. The same is true of Hellhounds, to an extent.
[ throughout the entire transmission, castiel's attention is only half on the camera. given dean's personal history with hellhounds, he's doing his best to try and monitor the other man.
…and if anything, cas' staring issues have dean's expression turning harder as he huffs his next words. ]
If you don't have salt handy, there's always your good old herb option, a little somethin' called the Devil's Shoestring. It'll keep those mutts at bay for a tick-tock. [ or rather, until the clock hits twelve and your time is up. good times. ] Dunno if our space rain forest has any of that, but there should be something equally useful growin' in there.
Goofer Dust is also an option, though it requires a combination of ingredients to create. [the largest of which involves a little dirt theft from a certain dead girls grave. he knows it's an idea that won't go down well with the people here, but when it comes to the safety of the people trapped here, castiel is willing to take that chance.] I will do my best to attempt to recreate it. But until then, it would be wisest to rely on the previous two suggestions to keep it from approaching you.
Not that it's gonna slow down or bite any less if you're its target. Monsters are like that. [ you can pretty much expect to die at that point, if you ask dean. ] But better buck up and all, never know when Lassie from Hell's gonna flip out.
[there's a slight delay between dean finishing and castiel picking up the explanation. most areas have been covered, but there's still one important fact to point out.]
Hellhounds are invisible to most. The can only be seen by those close to death, angels, and demons. [well, bar a few exceptions.] They're stronger and faster than any dog you may have seen before, and there are very few weapons in existence that are capable of killing them.
Consider them a vicious, invisible, and near-indestructible harbinger of death who wants nothing more than to tear your soul from your body after ripping it to shreds. [okay, so perhaps he knows how to be a little more graphic than necessary sometimes too.
yeah, okay, castiel gets another look from dean at that, this one more surprised than anything. a beat later though, he turns back to the screen, an oddly smug smile on his face. ]
Yeah, what he said.
[ all the more reason to try turn the already on board hellhound into an invisible rug. ]
Now that you all know exactly what you share your everyday environment with, maybe you'll think twice if you see a floatin' collar around. Don't say we didn't warn you.
( ooc: as you may guess, dean is green and cas is blue. )
