particularly one that has no real means of fending for

worried that you couldn't care less if something lives or dies.

It's been just over a week and he's still quite alive. Energetically so, in fact.

I'm capable of a lot of things. Taking care of a dog is not a particularly impressive skill.

It was implied. Apparently I get incredibly upset if I'm under the impression that you either don't listen to me or act as though you don't care, which isn't true.

I just want to make it explicit that I do care.
If that doesn't matter to you, fine.
