the good detective seems to have put his turkey-rallying days behind him. a pity, he was quite good at it.

Ah. But the good detective could never turn down a worthy cause, I don't think it's in his nature.
Perhaps a flaw for some, while others a gift.

I suppose it depends on the day with him.
He truly does seem to be just a boy scout at heart.

depending on one's definition. scouts, by my reckoning, aren't always what one would call the picture of honorable. judging by your connotation, you think differently.

i will say it's within the name. working for a worthy cause to most would be an honor. garnering honor, as a whole, tending to be honorable.

The Detective's an acquaintance from home actually.
And admitting that is not exactly something I felt necessary until now I suppose.

as suspected. acquaintanceship could be gleaned but the wanted anonymity leaves a marked tone of familiarity. now the only question is as to whether the problem with that particular acquaintanceship rests with you or him.

it's a work in progress. shall we trade? the name is sherlock holmes.

[ well that's interesting. there seems to have been a handful of holmes on this ship - most of which she found interesting due to her readings of past network transmissions. ]

Familiarity can be your greatest assets or your greatest downfall. Hopefully you'll not find it the latter.

[ the request of her name does have her pausing for a moment, silently debating all the pros and cons associated with revealing her name in a sense to some - she does love her privacy after all.

therein why those of a higher intellect make it a point to limit said familiarity, a careful pick and choose of the necessary and bloat.

I associate with who I need to when I need to, just like anyone with a rather good grasp on things should.

I'm assuming Mr. Holmes; encryption is not your strong suit?
