[The feed comes on to show Taylor looking pretty annoyed, a sharp frown pinching her brows even as something a little more weary lingers in her eyes. Her tone, when she starts speaking, still comes out strong, more authoritative than might be remembered from her before. Her first real announcement as Head of Security, she's keeping her shoulders set and her gaze level.]

I was thinking that this was basic fucking common sense, but seeing as some of you seem to need someone to actually say this shit, I'm gonna lay it out for you.

You don't kill each other, you don't assault each other, you don't steal each other's belongings and you don't damage each other's belongings.

[A pause, making sure those sit clearly before she carries on.]

There is a security team here, we're active and we will take action to enforce these basic rules and rights if we see or are informed of them being broken. Each infraction will be dealt with individually, so don't ask me for a blanket 'what will you do if'. SEC's here to keep everyone safe, not to control your lives. Most of you know the kind of shit we've had to deal with here - if you don't, you should've read about it. It's bigger and it's nastier than this kind of sniping, so calm the fuck down and stop fucking with each other already.

[A moment, keeping the same hard expression before she seems to relax slightly, looking away at something off camera and then back again.]

[Noah looks down, still listening as he searches for a pencil and paper. This is familiar to him, comforting. Skin is the same, whether it's in London or space.]

[He glances up again when he finds them, just in time for her to point out the places on her neck. The mention of a mouse tattoo makes him smile again. He could tattoo skulls and crosses in his sleep, but can't remember the last mouse that he did. It's a fun prospect.]

Are you looking for realism or something a bit more whimsical?

[That gets a snort of a laugh, quiet.]

About as far from a thespian as you can get.

[Though her experience was only in terms of keeping a cover in place for a covert operation. Something that always managed to fray and fall away pretty damn quickly when she tried.]

[She'd never done well in art beyond copying, and now descriptors were failing her. She frowns uncertainly, wondering if that's even close to communicating what she means.]

[He's seen all kinds of uncertainty. But it's his job to help with that. And his nature too.]

[That's more work than she'd really expect put into it, and she almost feels like telling him not to do that much for her, but she stops herself.]

Couple of people I fucked up on. [A frown and half a shrug.] Guess they're kind of reminders of that, and how much I've gotta make it up.

That's really admirable. A lot of people aren't even able to admit to that, much less actively try to make it up.

[That is nowhere near the response she was expecting, and she looks surprised for a moment before frowning, looking away from the camera.]

More admirable if I actually do make it up.

[Except she doesn't really think any of it's admirable, and she doesn't think she can ever really make it up.]

Right here? [A shrug.] One of them's gone home, so he's better off anyway. Just gotta do what I can when I can, same as always.

Something tells me you'll have no shortage of opportunities. Just make sure that taking care of yourself is a part of it.

[Though she's a little bemused that he seems to be concerned about that at all, with this being the first time they've talked.]

[For him, that's all it takes. Sometimes not even that much.]

[She nods.]

Sounds good. Your room? I can bring the ink and needles.

One thirty. And don't worry about the boy or the cat in the room. Neither of them are really as cranky as they seem.

[She frowns slightly, more at the cat than the boy.]

Got four dogs. That gonna be a problem?

[Four dogs. Noah looks surprised at that, but he's quick to reassure.]

It won't be. The more the merrier, and I'll make sure Edgar keeps the peace. Did they all come from home, or have you adopted them aboard the ship?

[She nods.]

They're good, won't cause any fuss.

[Which she's sure plenty of other dog owners say in these sorts of situations, too, but she says it cause she knows it's true.]

Three from home. One was my roommate's.

[It's another reminder that he should make arrangements for Edgar. It would be the responsible thing to do. But he worries even more about leaving Cillian behind, feels guilty as just the possibility of it. Even if it is beyond his control.

Noah takes a breath, pastes on a smile again.]

Brill. I'm looking forward to it. Tomorrow, then.

[Another nod, a brief smile of her own.]
