[ There’s a brief hesitation, as if he’s not quite certain what should follow that aborted beginning. He licks his lips, then clears his throat and continues. ]

My name’s Sam Bell. And I’m—Well, I’m new to the ship but I’m not new to space, so…

[ He trails off with a sigh, shrugging. ]

If somebody could tell me who to talk to for a job or, or something to do, I’d appreciate it.

I spent my whole life there. I think I'm good on the handling it.

I'm willing. Most of what I know how to do are technical things, science mostly. But I can learn other stuff if I need to.

I could recommend something, but it depends. What are your specialties?

Science, mostly. Some botany. Engineering. Fixing mechanical things.

There's a lot of departments on here that could use you, if you're looking to keep busy.

I am. I don't think I like being bored. I wasn't before, I'd like to not start now.

That depends how you define kidnapped. I spent my whole life in space. Lived on the moon.

A what? No. I worked there. On a lunar base. Mining helium-three.

I'm sorry. Many of us seem to be searching for the things our arrival has taken from us. [Jobs, objects, companions. In a softer tone, almost an afterthought-] Perhaps we are the ones waiting to be found.
