We knew it. [It's a rough, angry rasp, and one might hear the sound of something sharp being dragged against the walls.] We knew it was trap! He just couldn't settle for being wrong, could he? Couldn’t handle the fact that he needed us…

[One might note that the voice is... peculiarly double-edged, half human, and half, sibilant hiss.] Your little prisons have never stopped us before, Spider, and they won’t stop us now! How many innocents must fall at your hands this time?!

[They pause to gulp down a few, ragged breaths, pausing to grasp at their face. They feel disorientated, maybe a little sick. The Other, however, steadies them again, and they bare twisted fangs at the screen.] We’ll rip you limb from limb.

That's the spirit! If we'd meant to hurt you, you'd already be dead! [This is meant to be comforting.]

[The symbiote slips itself free, at least partially. The man underneath has none of the mirth that was displayed earlier, evaluating at the screen with narrowed, wary eyes. He doesn't like this, and the Other senses it, pooling against his cheek as though to reassure him that it can cover him in an instant once more.]

[ frodo stares, and the words are no comfort to him. he already distrusts the creature and the only sign of him being horrified is the widening of already large eyes, as if seeing more than just the event but countless other terrors. the same faces he's made at seeing the eye, the orcs and trolls, galadriel's mirror showing the fall of the shire and so many other terrible things. his skin, already pale goes a lighter shade as he swallows. ]

What has happened to you?

[ it's spoken quietly, with concern, and the same sort of compassion and horror that came from seeing gollum for the first time. ]

[He hadn't expected the compassion, the surprising slipping across his face in waves until he reels into stony silence. It must be pity. Does no one understand? Does no one even try?]

I became something more. [The voice is low and gruff, no longer edged with the alien hiss of the Other.]

[ringbearer]

[ there is a measure of pity but only because he doesn't understand. why you would let your body become something that would instill fear in others. he can't understand that. is he like smeagol? did he cling to his other self as a way of protection from simply being as he was?

as he hears his voice, this person is originally a man, his brows furrow. ]

More than what? How are you not mad?

[ smeagol is mad. frodo might become mad in the end but willingly? no, he would never. ]

Mad? Why the hell would I be mad? [He understands that by the way this guy is speaking, he's not from around here. The implication is no less insulting.]

[ringbearer]

There is someone I know--he lost his mind long ago, and now has seperated himself into two people. At least, it seems to be the way of it.

Something warped him---terribly.
[ his expression looks weary then. the ring warped him, he thinks, and he wonders if this man is warped as well. ]

Did you choose this?

[toomanyteeth]

[Warped--no, they're nothing like this. This is a bond. A gift. The Other silently reassures him of as much.]

We saved one another. It wasn't a choice. It was desperation, and we'd have died otherwise.

[ringbearer]

You are both..equal?
[ he doesn't understand. he's trying. and though this man is stern and cold-looking he favors it over the hissing thing with teeth that could have easily ripped him in half. ]
