Is this thing even working am I-- [ a few seconds of complete silence ] -- really like to know if this is even on. Do they actually think this is user-friendly? Is anything around here?

[ Another few seconds, the sound of footsteps and Angel finally gets the video to turn on just as he tries to shove his way through a door, scowling down at the camera. He is one unhappy vampire, and he doesn't have a whole hell of a lot to say.... okay, maybe that's a lie. ]

You know, if the Senior Partners are trying to send a message with this, I might need a translator this time around because i'm just a little lost. In more ways than one. Next time you want to tell me something? Try using your words, not your spaceship.

[ Disconn-- Nope, wrong button. After a few more seconds of grumbling, Angel finally disconnects, disappearing from sight. ]

what's the first thing she should say to the man she last saw before the bright lights and all that crap came and took her from her life and her home? for one, she doesn't even know if he remembers that. time zones or differences, whichever, are at work here, and if he doesn't know, then she gets to live in a nice pool of denial. she thinks this could be some weird illusion, because good things don't really come in tall, dark, and broodily handsome packages when you're stuck out in space. but angel's got the kind of bad luck that she has, so she rules that one out.

so, instead, she decides to go for the usual tactic: make fun of angel while grinning, because he's the biggest dope she's ever known. ]

I doubt anything that comes in the shape and size of a phone is Angel-friendly.

[ if this was any other day, any other situation, and a couple years in the past, he'd probably have something to say about being made fun of. technology sucks, his life is hard, etc., etc. but it's not, and he's from the present, and the last time he saw cordelia, she wasn't even really there. it's hard to say goodbye to somebody who's already dead, and he thought he'd already used up all of his chances.

all there is, is shock. and for a number of seconds, he's equally as speechless and sort of misses everything that cordelia says because she's right there. and a vampire's not supposed to get this many second chances. ]

[ she could take this one of two ways: one, he expects her to be jasmine, because the tone of his voice and the fact that he hasn't latched on to defend his technology moronity is the sign, and two, he thinks this is another one of the fancy powers that be illusions. she's hoping it's not. she wants to latch on and have two firm and solid feet on the ground in this ship now. ]

Hey Champ. [ she's fully grinning, because how can she not smile at that face? ] I told you I'd be seeing you. And it's good that you're clothed and goo-free, too.

Well, maybe you ought to start. There should be a guide around there -- somewhere. Can't really help you out in getting it unfortunately, but if you poke around a bit, you should find it. It's helpful enough.
