[ after the death of sherlock - someone caroline never had the opportunity to meet - and the disappearance of elena, she's starting to wonder how this ship operates. she still feels brand spanking new, despite being on the ship for a few months already. there are things she doesn't even know that the first comers do. and as much as she likes to rely on the expertise of others, caroline's found fending for herself usually ends with her in less trouble. at the end of the day, though, caroline is so sick of losing people. ]

So many people seem to go missing on this ship. It's not like there's a How To Tranquility available - and if there is, where are the mass-produced copies? - but, anyway, I've only known a few people to go missing before. As in missing - gone, poof, like they no longer exist here.

How is it that you know when someone's gone? Besides them not answering their phone, which can mean a multitude of things back home, anyway, but is there a way people know when someone is gone-gone?

[ there's a pause. caroline's voice is softer and sadder. ] No one has an answer for why, do they?

I'll see if I can fit you into my super busy schedule. [ of doing nothing and walking around this ship. for someone who is so used to being hit every second of the day with drama or obstacles, having a sort of smooth run in another world is kind of weird. ] I might be able to fit you in between walking to the Oxygen Gardens and stalking - following suspicious people.

Well, let me know if you find the time. [He blinks a little, tilting his head.] Who have you been following?

[ klaus, but that's called network stalking and is totally different. the d-bag seems to filter his messages, too, so caroline can't properly threadjack and spoil his plans. other people include mystic falls residents, especially mason, since he's important to tyler and therefore he's important to her. as well as keeping an eye out to see if any leads on vampires and emoticons come up. but that's network stalking, kind of like facebook. she looks a bit awkward, because her following people could possibly cause a bit of a tiff. or be a stupid idea. ]

Random people. Sometimes I think that if I follow them, maybe they'll lead me to some room that's secret or we've never seen before. After getting sick, I've realised there's more to this ship than meets the eye. And since it's not showing up with a door in my wardrobe, following people seems like the only other option.

[He nods a little. He hadn't been accusing her or anything, just curious. He spends a lot of his time trying to track Klaus himself, or doing errands for the dick. ]

Makes sense. It's not like this place is likely to just start handing us answers or anything. Has it led to anything, all this stalking you apparently do? [Note, there's that teasing tone in there again.]

Besides going around in circles? [ she linefaces and shrugs. she looks and feels disappointed that her efforts at taking control of the situation have failed. ] I've managed to waste a lot of time. It seems like Narnia only makes itself known when you're literally blue in the face.

Go figures. Why would the ship make it that easy on us?

Because the universe owes us? You'd think karma would be on our side, Tyler! I've done so many good deeds, we're due to be slapped in the face with karma.

[ she's also taking this incredibly personally because the universe freaking owes them. it's taken family and friends and even themselves away from them, but it can't cut them some slack? ]

Yeah, we are. Who knows, maybe the karma smacking will come soon. [But he's not holding his breath on it. While he loves Caroline's determination and optimism, he can't say he shares it.]

Do you think our karma can find us in space?

[ she emphasises our because their worlds are so different on this ship. people come from earths that haven't heard of mystic falls. some people don't even come from earth. their karma needs to find them - and soon. ]

Maybe. We can only hope it followed us. [It's nice, the idea of a karma that's just for them, even if it doesn't ever actually find them]

Well, it's made it possible for us to live together. [ always looking at the positives, this vampire. ] That's a small victory in our corner. And I hope it continues to follow us, because I'm really aiming for taking hold of this entire floor and renovating it. [ she grins. if they're going to be stuck on this ship for a long period of time, they might as well make a mansion of it. kick damon out of his room, at least. she wants the honeymoon suite. ]

Let your inner designer run wild? [He asks, still teasing. Really, he'll support whatever she wants, and whatever will help her find some happiness in this place.
