HARRY BLACKSTONE COPPERFIELD DRESDEN
31 July 2012 @ 08:37 am
[As Harry turns on his device, video is barely visible for a moment. He's poised over it with two screwdrivers, obviously trying to work it from a distance. Behind him are a few leaves and plants from the oxygen garden, as it's one of the areas he feels that he can be in without short-circuiting something important. The feed dissolves into static, his voice still present underneath the steady buzz.]

Dammit. This really isn't the time.

[The static grows louder for a moment then much softer, but Harry's voice is distant.]

I'm having... technology problems. The not-so-usual kind that comes with, well, being a wizard.

[More static bursts across his feed and he has to move further back.]

Look, can someone meet me in the garden to talk about the pods and the jump? I don't think this thing is gonna--- [oh yep there the feed goes.]

(ooc: Shoving this up while I can at work. Will be very slow. Open action to the oxygen garden! <3)

[ fun fact tranquility, you are looking at a guy who just had a best friend fully assimilated and a step-daughter half assimilated. that's a fun thing and really proves that he cannot leave anyone from where he comes from alone for any period of time. because then this happens. whatever, he's calm, he's okay with all of this. really.

he does have one question for all of you though. and it's important, even if he looks like he's jotting down some notes on his bed while he asks the question. ]

Most of us welcomed getting off the ship, didn't we? I know we had some people stay behind and I don't blame you, because sometimes you don't want to be on a slightly crowded shuttle going to some place in the middle of space that you don't know. I'm sorry, but the last time we docked anywhere was Tansei and that was several months ago. Or jumps ago. Either way, nothing really went wrong in Tansei. Was it apparently too much to ask for a repeat of that? Was it too much to ask to have the temporary vacation be innocent and not some incredibly twisted version of 1984?

[ he pauses. ] Pretty sure we didn't lose anyone and I could ask you guys how you are, but I'm entirely sure I want to know. So, hey, everyone who stayed on the ship, did anything out of the ordinary happen here? Or did all of us who went to Strela get the short end of the stick?

[ locked to damon salvatore and elena gilbert, encryption 80% ]

You two aren't escaping the question like everyone else, though. Are you two feeling alright? Or I am playing the game where I'm the sober one today? Because if that's the case, I'd like to be able to tell Jenna that's where I'll be until you two are fine.

Fuck.

[Surely in what is the best way to start a feed, one drained man in a big bad suit is sitting with his eyes closed. A twitch of the mouth shows teeth gritted in irritation, before he looks up and opens his mouth again.]

I won't pretend to know if we lost anyone there, but I imagine there might have been at least a person or two. Anyone's free to prove me wrong.

[He looks to the side, obviously having gotten distracted, he sighs a bit, scratching the back of his head.]

...Anyway, that's not what I'm here to talk about. Well, it is, but not quite that. I know I'm not the only one who got the star-studded treatment of that hell-hole, and I guess what I should say is... it'll get better.

It was a nightmare for me for sure, but- I've had to deal with stuff like that before, things that try to reach out and poke at your mind - or in this case, crush it like a goddamn grape. It's terrifying, it's excruciating, and I'm sure a lot of you are still recovering from it. I'm not saying you have to talk to me about it, but I wouldn't be against it either. I've been down here with the hum of machines since we all got back on our little fucking pleasure cruise, if you don't feel comfortable on the network. Either way...

[He looks up at the feed, grim eyes focused.]

Don't let it rattle you too much. We've still got a long way to go, and there are people willing to help.

Clarke out.

Strela

It's been a while since I've written anything, so I probably ought to apologize beforehand. It just feels like it ought to be important to keep a record of these things because you never know. Been here since the beginning. Eight months. Seen a lot of strange things, worked through some different situations, but this one sort of took the cake for me. Last month I was in medbay because of the illness so I didn't get to see that maze or those things alive in the Science Dept, but I heard a bit and I think it's important we remember that as we go on. Did anyone actually hear from Ward and Resnik about ANY of that?

Anyway... Strela...
