[ Alice is sitting up in Hatter's makeshift tea shop when the feed clicks on, a friendly smile on her face. Or an attempted one, anyways, since she's not exactly the most cheerful all things considered. ] Afternoon, Tranquility. My name's Alice and although I don't know many of you, I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in learning Judo. I have a black-belt in it and I was a part time instructor back home, so I can promise you I'm good at it. I wouldn't be offering if I wasn't. [ She offers another smile, though it ends up fading fairly quickly. ] I know it might not do a lot of good if there isn't something to actually defend yourselves against, but I also know that having the strength to do so if you need it is a huge confidence booster. And even beyond that, staying active and learning something new might be a good distraction from what's been going on lately. [ She might also be hoping that someone will take her up on this so she can have a distraction, but that's beside the point. ]

If you have something you'd like to trade in exchange for lessons, I'd be more than happy to discuss it with you, but it's not absolutely necessary. I'll be doing some training on my own, so it's not like teaching others is going to cut into my time or anything.

When do I start?

[ He'll pay you back--eventually, and even if you don't realize it. Brendan's never been one to be upfront about things. ]

I guess that depends on if you want group lessons or private lessons. [ Either way, she doesn't mind; it's not like she's doing anything else here, at least when things are somewhat calm. ]

[ It's automatic, and maybe said a little too quickly, so Brendan explains: ]

[ Alice isn't going to question his reasoning behind the request, but the speediness of his response does make her eyebrows pull together in a mix of confusion and interest. ]

That's fine. I'll probably be starting private lessons next week, I just need to know what day you'd prefer. Or days if you feel like doing more than one a week.

Okay. [ She glances briefly towards the duct tape on his arm and wonders why he's this determined to get lessons. But she's not going to pry. ] Let's start with twice a week and build up from there?
