Uh, so. Something happened. I know it's been a while since that stuff with the gas happened, but I don't know how to make things better.

And I'm not good with words, either. So I tried to make holograms to explain what happened, but I'm not as good with the machinery in here yet to manage that... have some drawings instead.



 

I totally broke his back. So... uh, how do you say 'sorry' to somebody when you've done something like this?

Of course I did that. Plenty of times- I just think... it doesn't feel like enough.

[He shrugs] He's getting better. The nanites are healing him faster than he would back at home.

Clearly, this is the best way for Roy to find out Superboy is here, too. Through really interesting drawings and seeing that he broke Robin's back. Luckily enough, he did remember how that gas affected people, and he's well over the mole thing and blaming it on CADMUS PROGRAMMING!!1!, so he'll be rational.]

You weren't in control, and he probably knows you'd never intentionally hurt him. I'm sure just saying sorry would be enough.

Well... I made them kind of fast, and I hadn't really drawn much before. I'm not sure if he will like it.

[He nods] Yes, he has one. And I don't mind carrying him around anyway, I am strong and he isn't heavy.

I still feel bad because this whole thing was my fault.

But if you were concerned about speaking, the pictures would tell him what you were trying to say--and then you could talk more about them, afterward. Or you could ask someone else to draw them for you.

[He frowns a little, glancing down at his own legs--not that the recording would indicate that, not really.]

I think you need only apologize. If you are helping him, then he knows that you are sorry, even if only in part. And if it was the gas--then it is not truly your fault.

[ Robin's response comes suddenly, if belatedly. It takes him a while to come up with the right idea in response to everything. The whole 'it's not your fault' try doesn't seem to be sinking in very well. Not that Robin necessarily- blames him. The 'it's not your fault' try doesn't seem to work very well with anyone when you've full convinced yourself enough that it IS your fault. ]

[Mary is concerned. She doesn't know Conner very well but she's already rather fond of him so she wants to help in any way she can. And she finds his drawings more than a bit endearing. So although she's never found herself in quite the same situation, she offers what advice she can.]

All you can really do is apologize, Conner. Words have more power than you think. And I'm sure if you're friends, he's already forgiven you. You just need to talk to him.

Yes. He... he was one of the ones who rescued me when I hadn't even woken up. He's one of my best friends, and I did this to him.

[He wouldn't usually be this upfront about these things, but he already trusts Mary ever since day 1.

He sighs He says he's forgiven me, and I know he has. I just want to do something for him, to make up for it. Somehow nothing I do seems enough.
