[ The video feed clicks on to reveal Robert Capa — a man in his mid-thirties with shaggy hair (still damp from the tube where he awoke) and a five o'clock shadow and narrow shoulders covered by the ship's uniform he found in the locker marked with his identifying number. His eyes, bright blue, are particularly striking in that they are wholly calm, despite the latest series of events. The rest of his face is calm as well, the muscles of which never really rearrange themselves much to convey this emotion or that. When he speaks his voice is measured and even, though there is a certain start-stop to the cadence.

His words are prefaced with an inhale. It seems to steady him. ]

I guess I should start with the obvious question. We can figure out where to go from there, depending how the answers trend. [ Capa rubs his chin; the scrape of his stubble is audible. ] Is anyone here part of the ship's natural crew?

[ He pauses, letting that inquiry and whatever implications it may carry set in. There's a vague flicker of emotion, maybe worry, in the set of his mouth but it's as understated as the rest of him. ] And maybe, more importantly: can anyone recall how they got here?

[ natural sciences are ones tony dabbles in. it's not his specialty but he can at least make a rough guess that it's not supposed to happen this way. but he's not a doctor and maybe other people have internal differences that cause the issue. alas, that's a mystery for another day, perhaps. ] Point taken, especially with the lack of the outliers. It's just- odd regardless.

[ there's no shrug from tony but instead there's just a pause while he mulls over the question. ] Mostly. Physical science PH.D.? You don't strike me as a social sciences one.

'Odd' is definitely one way of putting it. There doesn't seem to be any commonality between the people waking up in stasis. At first I thought they might have been recruited for a given skill-set or expertise but— [ Capa shakes his head. Too many civilians and too many children. ]

My doctorate's in astrophysics. Technically, I'm an astronaut.

There's individuals who don't have skill sets that make any sense being here. Since typically a spaceship this big would need a core group of scientists before any civilians. The mix just complicates things. [ he won't touch on how it's bothering him that there's a fair amount of people who shouldn't be here because of it, but it does more than a lot of things. ]

I reserve the right to end up telling you that you need to wear one of those spacesuits from my time.
