001 // voice.
[ A bit of silence, and the sound of someone clearing his throat.
Guess who finally decided to stop lurking? Thiiiis guy. ]
-- Can I say one thing, about the final frontier?
I thought it was supposed to be a little grander than this. [ THOUGHTFUL PAUSE. ] More lights, you know, and perhaps more windows in the ship so we could actually see things.
But as a measure of curiosity, show of hands, how many of us are just from good old Earth? Been to the moon and not much further, that sort of thing? Because an awful lot of you seem very at home on a bloody spaceship, and I'm feeling a little left out.

( video ) BUT SUCH A CHARMING VOICE SURELY HAS A HANDSOME FACE...
( voice ) exceedingly handsome. too handsome for your screen.
Least they could do to provide us with a some wine, hm?
The crew uniform. [ It's awful, don't get him started, but there aren't even any options. ] They could at least have let me keep my suit.
[ IT. WAS. EXPENSIVE. ]
( video ) goodness, that would certainly touch at oxford's curiosity
[ ... wait what ]
What, they didn't? How incredibly rude - in the light of that, I feel quite bad for complaining of my own situation when I at least have the luxury of having one of my suits with me. A little home comfort goes a long way...
[ Well, not really, but still. ]
( voice ) until then he'll have to make do with imagination
[ He does have one of his suits here with him, really. I actually forgot that but it's cool, handwaving powers away. ]
Well, no, I do have the one. [ GRIMLY. Clothes. Clothes are important. ] But I had a few with me in my luggage, which I can't help but notice isn't here with me.
( video ) well he certainly isn't lacking in that
( voice ) imagine the most dashing man in the world
Terrible sense of aesthetics. Rather dingy. The aforementioned lack of allowing me to have my luggage. [ totally counting off on his fingers ] Not being at all passenger friendly, given the difficulty in navigation, and being crewed by people pulled from what seems to be different locations in different time periods, many of whom wouldn't have the slightest idea what to do on a ruddy spaceship.
And there's the whole bringing-us-here-against-our-will rot, can't forget that . . .
( video ) with talk of suits and an attractive voice? easy.
All the same, it's quite a pleasure to meet others who're as unimpressed with proceedings as I am... some people have taken to the place, even to the damned jumpsuits. Others advocate that we ought to stop whining and get on with it, but then there is very little to be getting on with at the moment, besides exploring and communicating with your fellow passengers - or captives, depending on how one looks at it. [ He pauses, and then dryly: ] And then there are some determined to find sewing machines and outfit the entire ship with more suitable clothing.
( video ) excellent
Perhaps they're just finding ways to cope. [ a beat ] But the jumpsuits are inexcusable.
[ INEXCUSABLE!!1 ]
