But as a measure of curiosity, show of hands, how many of us are just from good old Earth? Been to the moon and not much further, that sort of thing? Because an awful lot of you seem very at home on a bloody spaceship, and I'm feeling a little left out.

[Here he was thinking trans-Atlantic boats were impressive. The 60s didn't sound like very far away, that was amazing. From steam power to moon landings in forty years... It seemed as unbelievable as being on a space ship.
And now for that awkward moment in every exchange where Richard debates whether to try and converse more or stop being a bother. A long pause later he carefully types out another short message.]

[Part of him still thinks this is all some kind of elaborate government psyche evaluation or test for veterans. 2010 sounds so implausible but yet there are aliens and creatures and robots walking around too. But like he said he's coping as best he can.]
