[ when the video feed begins, asa is apparently deep in the oxygen garden, dressed in the clothing he arrived from his world with. his little black antlers have been wrapped in ribbon and pretty silver charms that chime when he moves his head, and there's a vine covered in unusual bright orange flowers that seems to be growing around his fingers. it's weaved between them, the flowers opening slowly as he finds a tree-limb for it to cling to instead.

he glances back at the video, then, smile a little breathless as he pushes his hair back from his face. ]

The gardens are really very pretty for a-- a spaceship. I.. [ a small, embarrassed twitch, burying his hands in the hem of his tunic self-consciously. ] It made me think, though, that.. this is the only place on the ship that-- that seems to have anything growing. And.. um. I know it's only a little thing, but.. if anyone's interested, I think I could set up little indoor gardens for the rooms. I.. have an extremely green thumb.

[ his hands go white-knuckled, self-conscious as he glances down, away from the camera. ] It's.. nice, not having to.. to be ashamed of-- [ he trails off, then blushes, shaking his head. ] Well, nevermind.

[ he reaches up, then, turning the feed off. ]

[Asato's eyes are fixed on that vine and the flowers that bloom on it; a kind he doesn't remember seeing around here before. He's instantly gripped with fascination, and suspects that there must be some sort of life-giving magic at work here.]

[He smiles. Certainly a nice sight in the midst of this chaos, especially as of late.]

It would also be just as pretty and lovely having indoor gardens. That's quite a gift you got there.

[ Oh. Alayne is delighted both by the adornment of Asa's modest antlers and by the prospect of gardens as well. ]

How very clever of you, Asa, [ she says with a modest smile. Alayne looks tired, much more tired than Asa's ever seen her be before, but she tries to keep her expression bright. ] All this metal could use a bloom or two.

[ his expression brightens at the sight of alayne, relief plain on his face. ] I-- I thought so, too. I'm not used to places this.. stark, I guess.

[ a pause, then, brows drawing together slightly. ] I'm so glad to see you up and about. How-- How are you feeling?

I had never thought to imagine a ship that travels between stars before. And if I did I doubt that it would have been fashioned of so much steel and light. [ She dips her head, a courtesy, and tries very hard to look brave. ] I am much recovered, thank you, Asa. It will be some time until I am fully mended— [ Half a lie. ] —but every day finds me in better health.

[ Kasumi, admirer of pretty and decorative things that she is, is impressed. ]

for a few moments, asa looks flustered, but then he offers what he hopes is a warm (and not nervous) smile. ]

Of course, I'd be happy to. Does.. she have favourites?

[ He's less interested in an indoor garden and moreso in the vine growing around his finger - a power. A pretty neat one, it seems. But the last part catches his attention, seeming so used to the things he and the others had said before. ]

Not having to be ashamed of being different? [ Mutant and proud and all that. ]

[ a slightly shy, twitchy smile at that, and asa lifts a hand to tug a little self-consciously at one of his ears. ]

Yeah. Having-- a say. Being able to-- to go where I want and.. talk to who I want and.. things like that.

[Things had been hard for Russia for the last few weeks. Between the already bleak conditions the on the ship, the loss of several more nations and oh yeah that whole demon thing, he'd spent a day recuperating from the exorcism and sudden freedom of being in control of body and mind before he'd gone looking for some sort of distraction. Which is how he'd ended up in the oxygen gardens, eyes closed, fingers trailing through leaves, until he heard the soft chime of silver on silver and the equally soft stutter of a semi-familiar voice.

He glaces up, catches sight of long, long hair and inky tines of antlers and blinks in startled remembrance. Ah, at least this one the demon hadn't messed with, infatuated by the pretty face and compliments of it's -his- eyes. There's a mostly quiet moment where he trails fingers over a fern and let's the young man speak, but relatively soon as he's done Russia pipes up, voice soft and hesitant despite the too worn roughness to it. His accent catches at his words and it takes a false start of his speaking his own language (he goes flustered, color high on his cheeks as he starts again) before he actually voices his rather simple question.]

Can you grow whatever plant you wish?

[ asa actually startles a little at the unexpected voice, turning with a chime and wide golden eyes to stare-- up. oh. oh, it's the pale-haired, violet-eyed stranger from before.

blushing, asa twists his fingers together, offering a shy, embarrassed smile up at the other man and bobbing a slight nod. ]

As long as I've um.. seen it, or.. [ a pause, clearing his throat, gaze sliding away. ] If I can-- imagine it.

[So he's been camping out in his room, even if he normally camps out in the Gardens. Shit sucked lately, okay. He needs his recuperation time.

But this grabs his attention.]

It's not the only place. [His room is another, never mind that it's pot he's growing. The fact still remains - it's not the only place, and he's interested in what he just saw. And this kid doesn't seem to be lying about his green thumb.]

Charge? [ a confused blink, because he hadn't really thought about it. he's not sure he has any reason to charge for something like this, anyway. ] I-- I don't charge anything.

Oh! [ he touches fingers to the charms, blushing. ] They're-- decorations from home. I wear them at the circus, usually.

[What first brings him closer is the sound from Asa's charms. It's light and pleasant to his ears, and he's drawn to it naturally.

As his ears catch what he speaks, as he sees what comes alive by Asa's hand alone, the less he can keep his distance. Such a nice idea.... Still, Konoe takes his time, stopping a few paces away cautiously. Horns aren't restricted to deer, by his knowledge. But he sees no tail, and feels nothing foreboding while in Asa's presence. He's calm once he speaks up.]

A room garden, you said?

[ asa startles at the sound of a voice, turning toward it and then blinking as he notes the cat-like ears on top of the other figure's head.
