[Barely minutes after he's seen Tommy and Tyke's network post is Dean posting one of his own and this time it isn't so much about body shots. The sound of the bottom of his boots pounding against the floor is clearly audible as he makes his way to the kitchen. Whoever said salt's bad for you never met a freakin' demon before.

First thing? He's going to send that demon back where it came from. What comes after is already starting to make him feel awkward and he powers on through until he finally chooses to address the network. He's going to go ahead and assume whoever's checking has probably seen the video, too.]

You see any black smoke like that floatin' around near you? Move your ass if you know what's good for you. We're talkin' seriously contagious, Twelves Monkeys meets Outbreak. [And he really couldn't give a damn if that reference is lost on half of you. Just do what he says X(] Best bet? Stay in your rooms and out the way while we get rid of it.

[That's all he says publicly and if people even half recognize his voice and ID from his other network posts he's hoping they're going to realize he's not screwing around.]

[ Private to Cas; encrypted 95% ] I'm headed to the kitchens for salt. Maybe iron. [A pause, the briefest of hesitations:] Find somethin' to draw with.

[ Private to Jim Kirk; encrypted 95% ] We got a serious problem. People need to stay in their goddamn rooms and avoid that black smoke. We don't take care of that? 's gonna make the smurf's mutiny look like a freaking princesses of Disney slumber party.

[If he sounds angry, it's only because of the situation they're now stuck in. But regardless, there's the sounds of him moving about, working his way through the corridors to find the demon. And with any luck, he'll find something to draw a trap with along the way.]

[Oh, Dean's really not in the mood for a lecture, Castiel. Don't even try it. That would be the main reason he snaps when he replies, frown set so deep in his forehead he's starting to get a headache already.]

We're in goddamn space, Cas. I didn't realize they had hard-ons for playing Alien, too. You gonna help or just give me a ten-minute lecture on how I should've known better? 'cause if it's the lecture you can shove it up your ass.

Of course I'm helping. [And he'd be helping more if he could fly straight right now.]

We'll get rid of this demon and then make sure that precautions are put in to place.

Then find somethin' to draw with and get creative, man. Where can you get to easily to draw out a Devil's Trap? Decorate every freakin' inch you can... [Meanwhile Dean will be attempting to draw that demon towards himself and away from everyone else.]

[There's a pause at first. He knows it may not be the best option; isn't sure quite how far away Dean or the demon are. But it'd at least buy him enough time to set everything up if he stays near to where he is now.]

Do you think you can make it to the gardens?

[Dean knows Cas can't hear his jaw tighten with how unimpressed at this whole thing he is, but he actually makes an effort not to snap back. They're still on the same side and he's spent too long fighting these things to know fighting his friends too is a bad idea.]

Yeah.

Through the main entrance. Be careful, Dean.

[And then he's just hanging up there. There's no point dragging it out when they both have work to do now.]

Wait - just the one bit of smoke? [ A telling pause as Hotspur silently twists around, glancing over his shoulder on his end of the audio link - even in the depths of the shuttle bays he suddenly feels alone and vulnerable, as if expecting to see a plume of black smoke bearing down on him at any moment. ] Or is there going to be more of it?

Contagious how? Last time I checked, viruses weren't visible to the naked eye.

[ hey, dean brought up twelve monkeys and outbreak. chapel's just assuming. ]

If only going back in time had worked as well as they wanted it to. [ You're not the only one who's seen Twelve Monkeys, Dean. ] What kind of contagion's visible?

There are too many unknown variables-- what sort of infection? what was Dean going to do about it? Tillman was not fond of being left in the dark, but he had a feeling he wouldn't get lengthy answers from Dean. He had to narrow his questions down to get the most relevant information.]

What procedures are you using to combat the threat? What should be done if you get infected?

Care to share how we're fighting this and what the hell we're dealing with?

A demon. I've only seen one so if we're lucky this ain't gonna get too outta hand. [It's just that Dean knows better than to assume things aren't going to get messy fast.]

I'm headed that way now. Salt and iron can keep 'em back but the only way to get rid of them is exorcism, man. A bunch of latin you gotta say word perfect for it to work. And that's only after you got 'em trapped. 'cause you start sayin' that crap while they got you pinned up against a wall? Not gonna end well.

[Kirk has no experience in this, and for all intents and purposes he should probably second guess what's going on; but from what he knows of Dean, he couldn't see him saying anything unless it was as bad as he thought it was.]

[After a pause in which his brain is close to cracking a joke at such an inappropriate time, he shakes it loose and lets it go.]
