Okay, uh. I'm looking for some people. Sean Cassidy - this tall, scrawny ginger kid, looks high half the time. Hank McCoy - really blue, really fuzzy, hard to miss. Answers to 'Beast' or 'Bozo'. Likely to bore people to death with science.

[ There's a momentary pause while Alex just looks sort of awkward, lips in a thin line while he stares at the device. God, this is weird. Okay. ]

[ Aaaand... another moment of awkward staring. And blinking. Oh fuck this technology thing, this is stupid. He'll just go back to mumbling while he starts flipping the comm device over. ]

Only blue guy we've got calls himself Megamind. Tried to pull off a mutiny last month. That sound like your friend?

[ Not said too excitedly, just with eyes a little narrowed in confusion. Then again, if Erik's here... His voice drops to something that's just merely standoffish. ] Oh. Here with Erik, right?

Mhm. [harsh vibes, man. Raven just tilts her head a bit at the screen, not ready to call him out on it yet seeing as it might just be because he woke up on a spaceship. 'Bozo' isn't much better.

[ He squints at her a little. Well, that awesome that you're all friendly and all but... There was kind of this big awkward fall out and he's not too sure he's really cool with you right now, brosis. Hm. ] Uhm. Alive? I guess. Fine. [ He glances over her on the screen for a moment, before something registers: ]

'Bozo's not his codename. Just 'Beast'.

Sir? Does 'Beast' or 'Bozo' have horns or wings?

[ There are not many willing to try and connect with someone immediately after; least not in the way he and Alex managed to break each other apart and set themselves on edge afterwards. It's frustrating, to say the least, that Erik has been deliberately been forced at odds with his team, thought of as unneeded despite what he had done for their interests overall, and it's a vulnerability he hadn't considered, but one Erik has no choice but to accept at this point. A vulnerability that so happened to be wide open, leaving Erik ill at ease, frustration gone the next day and a wicked streak that had Erik been conscious for the entire affair, it would have been a moment where Alex was proven right. ]

Worries you can't hold your own against me, Havok?

[ Little girl, wat. Hm, awkward. ]

Uh, no. He's just big and blue and furry. Sorta like a giant teddy bear with glasses.

[ Jfc, Erik, why does he get the sudden urge to punch you every time he hears your voice. Oh, because you're a jerk. There's an annoyed sigh and he almost just ignores this message, but sure. He'll play. Charles isn't here to tell them to back off this time. ]

[ Cries all the tears, fuck this event. Fuck your life. Because the sad thing is, right now, Erik doesn't understand. Erik understands, which is the painful part, because despite everything he's done to the team, Charles' students, he understands exactly what it is to look for your friends and be attached to them. He understands why Alex is looking for them, what it's like to have someone you can finally open up to, no longer have to keep yourself tucked away. It's what he and Alex could have had if they tried hard enough to put together some resemblance of conversation, instead of Erik retreating to Charles, the only one who simply understood what he had been through, and Alex had been reeling from the loss of Darwin, a mistake Erik had made and would have conceded to, if they were given a chance to talk. Such a thing, Erik is dimly aware, is no longer possible. ]

Nothing I need to understand. [ Erik says simply, but this time, like the previous, is not Erik; feeding off his relationships, the weaknesses he keeps hoarded inside, and the Erik Alex is speaking to is the one that would have been there if Erik hadn't had a shred of his humanity left. ] Figured someone like you would be desperate enough for human contact.

[ It's quite a shame really, that Alex has come to that, when Erik is off succeeding on his own terms and no one is around to try and tell him otherwise. ]

[ He's not sure what Erik's issue is, as he wasn't so hostile before, but then again, Charles was there to mediate, keep the kids from fighting. He supposes this is what Erik really had on his mind to speak about. Alex supposes he shouldn't be surprised, with the way he shoved them back on the beach - threw them, used his powers against them. His speech. How he seemed to just take on everything that Shaw was. Of course he'd be like this now. Fine. That just makes him easier to hate for it. ]

Better looking for contact than looking to go on a murdering spree. [ He can't erase the images of Erik's hand in the air, guiding the arsenal of missiles towards those ships with thousands of men on them. Innocent or not, that's practically genocide. Alex can't process how he could even be capable of it, how he could make that choice so easily, but he supposes that's just how Erik's always been. And he'd thought he knew him before. Wished he had, in a way. That notion gets shoved down and away and forgotten.

The time they were something like family is gone and it's not ever coming back. ]

Those sound the sort we'd know, if they were hanging around. Or at least remember. Which isn't a good indication, actually, seeing as I don't remember seeing anyone blue in all the time I've been here.
