001 ♕ Video ⊗ "The Best thing for being sad is to learn something."

[ The feed begins with a tired but kindly looking countenance splayed across Charles' features. The faintest crook at the corner of his mouth and the lift of one inquisitive brow. It's taken him a bit to learn to make a broadcast of his own, but fortunately he's adept enough to make a quick study. He addresses those whom might, or might not be viewing, directly. ]

Hello, Charles Xavier-- I've just arrived, amongst a few others I assume, and have two requests:

First, I've been alerted to the basic information of my situation and that of this ship, as it were; though I find it a bit... lacking. If anyone can provide me with more information I would be grateful. I've discovered a few things in a simple assessment of what I've seen thus far through these telecommunication based devices-- and of course in simple observance of the parts of the ship I've seen-- however nothing near a proper assessment of the current status of the ship and those aboard it.

Secondly, I've a request of a more personal nature-- more akin to a favor if you will--. As it stands my mobility is a bit challenged with the chair I've been provided; and it's inclined to make a horrid squeaking noise. [ He winces a bit at the recollection. ] Which, even on it's own, is quite impressive and entirely irritating. Essentially, I need a grease or lubricant of some sort. I've not got much to offer in return, unless you're fond of a glass of scotch.

[ He folds his hands at his waist leaning back a bit, ] Anyhow, excuse the intrusion, thank you for the moment of your time.

[ A dozen questions bloom in Alayne' mind. Was it an accident? Had he been born a cripple? Did they have wheeled chairs in his world as well? Were they as easy to use as the others had claimed them to be? Sansa Stark's brother Bran now used a chair, though with a certain amount of difficulty, and so Alayne's curiosity blooms at the prospect of meeting someone else who used one as well. ]

A wheeled chair, is it not? Forgive me, please, I am only newly acquainted with such things. Though necessity has required that I become familiar and quick.

[ Privately Alayne thinks to herself that there's much harm in asking questions. Sansa Stark's father had asked questions, as did Jon Arryn before him. And look at the fate it had earned the both of them.

But these are not dire inquiries. They do not involve things like kings and counsel and bastards. And so, Alayne holds her tongue and smiles politely back, saying:
] I've close acquaintance with a young lord who has lost the use of this legs. Were he home, he'd have different means to move from place to place, but here

The suggestion was made and so we have taken it. We've little choice otherwise.

[ She knows that it is rude to ask too many questions, even those that mean no harm. Still, Alayne has made conversation with several people on the matter of these wheeled chairs but this man, this Charles Xavier, is the first acquaintence she has met who uses them out of necessity like Bran. ]

Is it commonplace in your world— the chair? Is this place familiar to you? There are some among the passengers who see home in all the various things this ship has to offer. But me and mine, I am saddened to say— we do not.
