Okay, so there are definitely aliens here. (Or I guess we're the aliens, technically.) It'd be good to try to compile what we know so far in one place, so here are a couple questions:

1. What are we calling them? I've heard crickets, I've heard grasshoppers, and a bunch of other stuff that seems even less polite. Can we agreee on one? Any other ideas?

2. I haven't run into any that seem chatty yet but I hear they talk in colors???

3. Do we have any idea how the people they took were chosen/singled out? Did you/they all go to a specific place or distance or do something to draw their attention? Anything in common? Looking for patterns never really worked on the ship but we could try.

I was young.

The crickets were already dead.
Cricket legs were an ingredient in the potion I ruined.
I'd been lazy and threw in the whole cricket.
It was poetic really.

We got extra homework. The real punishment was just having to sit there for hours instead of going to do all the extracurriculars we were supposed to be doing at that time.

No. People would have complained to their parents and the parents would've had a fit if they did. They already got mad that we were being kept out of sports and music lessons and stuff.

If we're doing a for real survey probably questions like what places away from camp they've visited, if they saw anything unusual, what the last thing they remember is. If they've been to the tether limit recently or ever.
