So, the Tranquility.

I like to think I'm a pretty go-with-the-flow kinda girl, but after arriving in a tube of blue goo, immediately having my best friend and guide kidnapped, and then faced with ship mutiny and general chaos, I just have one question.

[ the hand stops drumming and she looks directly into the feed, lowering her glasses a little bit. ]

Who the fuck named this ship?

[ she's about to turn off the feed, when she pauses. ]

Also, just for future reference, is it always this definitely-not-tranquil?

[ she can't help but laugh faintly at the statement. knowing it is even something she has wondered about - just never asked. ]

Ironic isn't it? [ a shrug of a shoulder then, and she is arching her brow in curiosity. ]

You're friends with Jane I take it? [ making the jump to who she was referring to with that. ] I hear she is okay now.

Makes you wonder whether the name was already ironic, or a hope that just failed spectacularly.

And yeah, friends from back home. I'm just glad it's over with. For now, I guess.

I'm going with the assumption they knew just what they were doing when they named it that. [ which has her letting out a small laugh and a shrug of her shoulders. ]

I'm Ariadne. [ she might as well make friends. figuring if she is friends with jane, she can at least count on some sanity from this girl as well. ]

Until they're adjectives. If they'd named it the Kevin or the Puddle or something, then sure, it's not relevant. But a descriptor? That's a hope.

I guess The Boredom doesn't have quite the same ring to it. But good to know it's not always chaos and insanity. I'd kinda wonder how the ship survived if it was.

It makes you wonder if irony was the original intent, or if whoever named the ship is weeping in a corner somewhere in disappointment.

Perhaps it was meant for another purpose, and whatever caused the original crew-members to disappear changed the nature of the ship?

[ MAYBE IT'S KIND OF SAFE TO ASSUME HE KNOWS WHO SHE IS.......with all that creepy spying he did on Thor while Thor was on Earth, but she probably doesn't know him. And he doesn't really plan to let her know right off the bat, but she'll probably find out eventually.

The ship may be large, but things—information and rumors and words—tend to travel fast. ]

Perhaps it was someone with a taste for irony. [ Because this ship has truly been anything but tranquil lately, and he suspects that whoever is behind this—whoever named the ship and captained it into space and collected its unwitting passengers and set this all into motion—knew it would happen. He almost wishes he'd thought of it himself; it's not nearly as fun being on the receiving end. ] There was a period of relative peace after my own arrival, but the more time that passes, the more restless the passengers seem to grow.

Of course, the recent attacks in the corridors and other assorted, disturbing phenomena may have something to do with it.

[ But he doesn't seem all that disturbed. He's kind of smiling, actually. ]

[ she only knows him as 'the shadowy evil entity that is thor's brother', no face to a name, so there's no suspicion. for now.

'Disturbing phenomena'? Like what? Someone already mentioned finding skeletons around, but I'm really starting to realize just what a massive joke got played naming this place the Tranquility.
