Hi. My name is Wanda Maximoff, and I have been here ... almost a month, I think. Several people who have been here longer than I have, have been kind enough to share with me what they know of this place, and believe me – I am grateful. So, thank you, again, to everyone.

Anyway, as it is, I hate feeling powerless – my abilities are not what they were back home – and being stuck on what is an alien planet, so in an attempt to feel like I am better prepared for certain things, would anyone please be willing to train me in more hand to hand combat and be a sparring partner? I know I am out of practice with using what I do know without the addition of my stronger abilities back on my home planet. In exchange for your time and efforts, I can help you out with any of your own tasks that you might need or want help with.

Why would you throw a knife?

at a target, to hit whatever they are throwing at? I just know people do it.

I have never done that.
I meant fighting with a knife. Up close.

That.. probably makes more sense. Do I need to find and bring my own weapon or do you have spares?

We will start with sticks. I have a knife of my own. While you learn you can look for one too.

This is one of the smarter posts I've seen.

I was trained by the best that my country had to offer. But I'll warn you. Any concept of fair play is out the window.

Is this not a common topic for people to inquire about soon after they arrive?

I think, from what I have heard about what may or may not be out there in the rest of this place, fair play was out the window the second I got here. So, I would be okay with a lack of it in training as well.

Oh, all sorts of subjects seem to come up. They try to be helpful, but there's only so much that crossing your fingers and knowing which slimes are edible can do.

I have high hopes for you already. You mentioned your abilities back in your world. What were they?

The diet here could stand some variety, but yes.

Mental-based ones. Telekinetic, telepathy, and forms of mental manipulation. When you can do things like fire energy bolts at people, knowing a lot of different ways to fight hand to hand gets lost.

Well, who needs to know how to throw a punch when you can just toss someone into the wall with your mind. Still, there's a satisfaction that comes with it. I hope you'll appreciate it.

Well, the one punch I am most familiar with is the punch called 'weak punch to the shoulder of a twin brother when he's being sarcastic, which is always', so ... does that count as a satisfying punch? So if it's anything like that, yes I probably will.

You're a twin? So am I.

Yeah, a brother named Pietro, but he isn't here. Back home, I got frequent reminders that I'm twelve minutes younger. What is yours like?

Her name is Michelle, eldest by a hair.

She is goodness incarnate. Sometimes I wonder how we're related at all.

She sounds like a wonderful twin. I also do happen to have it on good authority that sisters are great. :) Is she here with you?

She isn't here, and I wouldn't wish her here. But she would certainly make the best of it.

I'm sorry you two have to be apart now, either way. Being apart from mine is my least favorite part about life here so far.

Yeah.. anyone who could make the best of things here would win my respect.

Maybe you'll see him again. I'm not sure how much this planet really cares about our wishes.

american marine corps and special forces. argentine navy. south african army. was a sniper in russia once among other military.

That .. yeah, certainly sounds like a long story, and mine is no short one either. But at least you've got a varied number of experiences within yours.

wouldn't be surprised if we all have our long stories to tell.

in any case, it's enough experience to pass on to others. suppose that's one good thing about it. [Because having a mess of false memories in your head can be confusing as balls.]
