As the passenger known as Megamind has stated, he does indeed possess considerable control of our vessel. In response I find it necessary to address the dangers inherent in disobeying his requests. It has been made clear that his intentions are unquestionably hostile and the likelihood that resistance will be met with force is 98.8 percent.

With this in mind, I invite all passengers able and willing to aid in the rescue of hostages Roxanne Richie and Doctor Jane Foster as well the capture of Megamind to present themselves. Please state any relevant qualifications and experience so that you may be appropriately grouped.

I repeat all personnel are requested to assist.

Groups will be constructed as they volunteer and each will contain a minimum of two individuals with extensive experience in combat. All those who wish to remain uninvolved are advised to secure themselves in their quarters or medical bay until further notice.

[ In a way, the solidarity is rather comforting, twisted as it is for them. Erik is at the start of a war, and Remus is in the midst of one. He should reach out, offer a handshake or some sort of physical gesture to indicate as such, but he doesn’t feel it’s appropriate, at least not now. ]

I’m sorry. [ It’s a genuine apology, however meaningless those two words are; they never solve anything. ] To have lost important people in your life. My parents were one thing, I intend on making sure it doesn’t happen to my friends.

[ Because that’s what Charles and the others had been, in their own way, from friends into a resemblance of family and Erik had no intention of letting go. ] I imagine your war must be worth it.

[ Erik tenses, because while Remus skipped the allegory, he doesn't need the Wizarding equivalent to know the implications. Wiping out inferiors, inferiors who aren't pure enough, he's heard the propaganda enough as a child, has never stopped listening to it, because it means something he can't articulate to Remus right now.

It doesn't even occur to him that he's heading down the same path, that his determination to seek revenge on mankind is ushering him into a position where he does just that, because Erik is full of nothing but flat out revenge and dislike over purists. ]

I've been there. [ Erik says quietly, lips barely moving at the recollection of the camps. ] There was a war like that in Germany, if you were aware of it. [ He doesn't quite know how much Remus might be aware of non wizarding events, but he brings it up nevertheless. ] It's been termed World War II in several countries, and lead by a force not unlike the one you spoke of.
