Greetings, my name is Ai Enma and I represent the Support Staff on the ship this month. For any newcomers the ship is called the Tranquility, we do not know why or how you or we are here but the Support Staff is willing to answer any questions you have to the best of our abilities.

You are not dead and this is not Hell. You should also think about getting a room on floors 1 to 10 because they are the only ones patrolled by security. Do not abuse the complaint box and do not go too far into the hallways, there are monsters there.

It is a place of eternal torment where the wicked go when they die. As this place is often one with misery, some people may believe it is Hell. It is not. Hell is much worse.

Why? What torments them?

Many things. They are trapped there, wandering forever. There is pain, emotional pain and visions as well as simply being hurt. Hell is eternal and the people suffer there in many ways.

Whatever you can imagine, Hell is all of that and worse.

Why? [ Genuine curiosity. ] At home, they say the souls of the unrighteous are lost in the Fade forever. They aren't tortured.

I do not believe all worlds are the same. We do not have the Fade in my world for example. We have the afterlife. Those who are good go to heaven a place of peace and those who are wicked are condemned to Hell. I do not know why, it is simply the way it has always been. It is not always fair, but nothing is.

Heaven and Hell are concepts that many worlds have, but I believe there are many differences between them still.

Yes we are. If you look out the windows you may see space for yourself. There is more information about it in the links.

I understand that this is a great deal to take in. We have all been through it.

You would have to speak with the chief flight officer. We have shuttles and they have been used in the past.

who's the chief flight officer?

He is called Wash. There are others in the flight department but he is the one you should speak to if you wished to learn to use a shuttle.

It is. People thought it would be an easy way to inform people when they first arrived. It is safer if we are all closer to each other in an emergency. Security also does not do patrols past the tenth floor anymore because we lack the numbers.

do you mean the number of people to do patrols or the number of people stuck here?

Security I believe. Though we seem to have less people then we once did overall.

People vanish every jump as well. I would not say there is a small number of people here, but there are less of us.

There are monsters in the dark parts of the hallways and they have attacked in mass recently. If you look at the links you will see other strange things happen from time to time.

Recently a person accidentally let lose a monster from their world which caused people to see their greatest fears.

Telling them not to abuse the complaint box might make the original protester come back.
Or start a new one.

I suppose that is true. People rarely listen to warnings that are for their own benefit.

The complaint box is for their benefit. If they render it unusable then it is their loss.

Are there any complaints you can do something about?

The head of our department seems to think so. We haven't had anyone use it properly though. So I suppose it would depend on what their complaint was.

What if there was too much cheese in a kitchen?

Hypothetically.

[This is why she thought the idea was dumb. However job's a job, annoying people or not.]

Then hypothetically we could remove some from the kitchen or bring up less the next time the kitchen is restocked. If your next hypothetical complaint was there was too little cheese in a kitchen then I would let Murphy talk to you as this was his idea.

It is impossible. But we do what we can.

Have they for the entire time the ship has brought us here?

Yes. Or at least everyone is not dead or at war with each other. Which is what I expected to happen.

I'm surprised there aren't incidents for the brig. Even without war.

There have been. Security deals with them I believe.

But there aren't as many incidents as they could be.

What exactly do you mean by monsters? Can I get additional details?

There is a wide verity. They recently attacked in mass and there were many different types. There are monsters that look like humans, animals or other creatures. Some seem to be native to the worlds of the people on the ship but I do not know much about them.
