[ The first thing that can be seen when the feed clicks on is a shitload of green. Then Mason shifts the comm so it's focused on him. ] So, this oxygen garden. How's it work? Is there someone that takes care of it and decides who gets to plant what, or is it more a community free for all? [ He needs to try to plant some Wolfsbane because when it runs out, life is going to suck. Not only for him but for everyone on board. ] And if someone's in charge of it, could somebody tell me how to get a hold of them?

[He answers the door with a small smile on his face, already moving aside to let the other in.]

Mason, right? I have everything here. If you need more, I'll try to get more.

[angerissues]

That's me. [ He steps inside and takes a look around, though the room's fairly similar to his own. Layout-wise, at least. ] Hey, man, don't even worry about it; this is already way more than I expected to get.

Thanks again, by the way. If you ever need anything... [ There isn't a lot Mason can give him, of course, but he'd try to repay the favor at least. ]

[walksonrooftops]

[The only difference is the personal belongings in that room and numerous small plants he keeps within it. There are blooming flowers of a kind he didn't know but found very interesting, and in the corner, where the light is low, they seem to give off a glow of their own. They serve no function other than looking pretty, but that's all Asato wants anyway.]

I'll keep it in mind. Although, really, I don't need anything in return.

[He hand him a bag containing some small pots and a still-unopened package of fertilized potting soil, as well as a small pail for watering.]

I hope it's enough. Is there anything else--?

[ Mason definitely notes the flowers - and the pots they're in, which he has to assume are the exact same as the ones Asato is giving him - but the only ones that really hold his interest for any length of time are the ones in the corner. And even those don't keep his attention for long. ]

It's only fair, right? [ He's not the kind of guy that likes owing people, whether they feel he does or not.

That gets a slight shake of his head, as well as an accompanying smile, and he takes the offered bag. ] I think I'm good, actually. If I need any help with it, do you mind if I give you a call, though? It seems like you've kinda got a green thumb going on.

[walksonrooftops]

I suppose so. But don't feel obligated. [No one ever did before, after all. Still, once he thinks about it he doesn't have anything against a fair trade, one favor for another, if Mason insists.

At the question, he gives a brief nod.] Definitely. You can call any time. I'll do my best to help.

[angerissues]

[ He shakes his head. ] No obligations here, just the want to help out a fellow prisoner.

Great. [ He might need all the help he can get if the plant doesn't start growing sometime soon. His bag only had a limited supply of the actual Wolfsbane, after all. ] I'll leave you to... whatever you were doing, then.

I wasn't doing much, so it's okay. You know, you can always come over just to talk, too. I don't mind that.

[He's found that, when they're not revolted by the sight of him, people can be pleasant to have around. He can't promise not to be awkward as all hell around them, but he does like a little bit of company every now and then.]

It helps if you don't think of it as 'prisoner', though. You'll hurt your brain with that.

I'll definitely have to take you up on that sometime.

[ Mason's not the best when it comes to making friends considering his trust issues, but it would be nice to have someone else to hang out with. ]

'Passenger' implies that we signed up for this, though, and I don't know about you but ending up in space wasn't exactly a goal I had. [ Though it does beat being dead... ]

I ended up here just the same way you did, I think. So it's not that I want to...but if you think of it like you're a prisoner, it'll feel a lot worse.

[He gives a quick shrug but keeps his friendly smile.]

There are a lot of people here who are really nice. So it's not all bad.

[angerissues]

Yeah, I guess you've got a point. [ It still doesn't feel right, calling himself a passenger, but he'll figure out something else.

That second part gets a nod. ] That's definitely one thing this place has going for it. It would still be nice if whoever brought us here would show their face, though, just so we can get some questions answered.

[walksonrooftops]

Ward and Resnik are around sometimes. But I'm not sure if they were the ones who brought us here.

[So many questions he wants answers to. Ward and Resnik don't seem too eager to talk, though.]

They're the only ones who were here before. The only ones left, it feels like.

[angerissues]

Before? Like before everyone else started showing up? [ Because even if they weren't the ones that brought them here, they might have more answers than anyone else seems to be able to supply. ]

[walksonrooftops]

Yeah. When there were others on this ship, maybe. It's a big ship for just two people.

I don't know if they brought us here too. No one can say.

[angerissues]

[ Interesting. Ward and Resnick were both mentioned to him earlier, but he didn't really care too much until now. ] Does anybody know how or why they're still here when everyone else who might've been on the ship originally are gone?

[walksonrooftops]

Yes. Outside the ship.

[That much he's sure of, but the follow-up is disconcerting.] Except, no one wants to talk about it. I tried to ask.

[angerissues]

Of course no one wants to talk about it. [ That would imply that people around here - aside from a few from the later jumps - actually give a shit about helping out other people. ] Even if they did, they probably wouldn't have any answers to give as to what exactly happened and why.

[walksonrooftops]

Even the others, though. We stopped at a...I think it was called a "station", once. And there were people from the outside there.

They talked about a lot of things, but asking them about this ship was impossible. They always looked at you so strangely.

[angerissues]

Maybe they're not allowed to talk about it. [ It could be some kind of government thing - didn't someone else mention that to him? - but that still didn't tell him why he was here, considering he's dead back home. ] Or maybe they're all just idiots that don't pay attention to the news at all.

[walksonrooftops]

I really don't know. But I don't like it at all.

[It had made him very uneasy when he was on the Tansei station, and it still bothers him now.]

[angerissues]

Can't say I'm incredibly fond of it, either. [ Just hearing that leaves a bad taste in Mason's mouth. ] Was that the only station this thing's ever stopped at? Do you know?

[walksonrooftops]

In the time I've been here, yes. Maybe before everyone started showing up, though, because we stop at stations to pick up food and supplies.

[angerissues]

I was wondering how this place stayed stocked. [ He figured it was just done during the jumps when no one would be able to see how it happened. ]

[walksonrooftops]

They announce whenever they go to the stations, but no one's supposed to leave the ship, even then.

[Which is why it's such a bad thing that he and a few others decided to sneak out on the cargo craft, but he'll refrain from sharing that for now.]

[angerissues]

Right because if we do that, they'll have no way of getting us back on without drugging us again. [ He assumes that's what happens when they go into the grav couches because he doesn't know any better. ]

[walksonrooftops]

Yeah. Unless this ship is the only way to get home. Then maybe it would be better to come back, even if it's unpleasant.
