[ Self-defense comes as part of the military territory, but Vega is instantly impressed with the offer even if he's not planning on taking it up. The mention of sparring is pinging all the right spots for him though. ]

Sparring? Hell yeah, sounds good. Nothin' like a dance to get the blood pumpin'.

[ anderson figures everyone should be able to learn the basics, at least. it'll help people out if they are ever in a situation where they need to defend themselves, it'll help in any other situation by giving more self-confidence, and it'll keep everyone busy.

He wouldn't exactly call this place soft but it definitely isn't military life and that's what he's missing right now. The taverns—bars—they tend to be empty. If you want a crowd you'll have to invite one.

The booze is free? [ Whaaaaat kind of crazy setup do they have here? Drinking when it's not specifically Shore Leave Time For James is a thing he doesn't really know what to do with. Omega sure as hell doesn't count - that was extended shore leave and didn't go on his record. ]

Probably the best news I've heard since I got here. That or the offer of a tour around the armory.
