Some of you know me, some of you don't. My name is Ianto Jones, and I've been here since the first jump. Back in the beginning, there was a whole group of us who were very seriously dedicated to unlocking the mystery of this place, and I think it's fair to say that we came a good distance. Most of the others are gone now, but we put together a guide that I kept updated for a long time after the organization was disbanded. After a while, though... Well, I suppose like I felt people weren't reading it any more. But we've lost quite a few of the old hats and gained a lot of new faces, and what used to be fairly common knowledge has been lost.

I've been convinced to revive the guide, but in the meantime, one of the things many of you may be unaware of is the subnetwork, buried directly beneath the one we're using here, and how it's been used before. Smiley, the entity you saw leave us that passage before the rescue mission, has given us nuggets of information on that subnetwork before. He left us another one, and we cracked it just a few minutes ago.

For those of you unfamiliar, this is a list of numbers — our numbers. Each of you will recognize your own if you're on it. To date, this is the third list of passengers Smiley has given us, and we still have no idea what they mean. Most of the passengers on the previous lists are now gone, but so are many others who weren't listed, so read into that whatever you will.

It's also possible. It clearly didn't appreciate Shepard going down there, just as much as it wanted to admonish us for trying to take the bridge. It may well be it's killed her for trying it.

Some of the other things it's done have had similar effects, but where strength endures people will rally to it. It'll be hard, though. For many of them, considering what they've seen...it's gonna be real hard.

For some, it's what they've seen that could give them strength. [For some -- people like Kate, like her dad -- seeing and living injustice made them all the more determined to stop it.]

And those are exactly the things it likes to try and corrupt. But it's not got us all independent of each other. As long as we're together, it's clear we can beat it.

It seems to me that it might be what that list is trying to do: keep us from trusting each other. I might be wrong. I probably am. There's probably a lot more to it than that, but I can't help but think that's part of it.

Maybe. But it can only do that if you allow it to. You need to remember that we're all in this together; we're all victims here.

Do you distrust them for it? Do you think you should distrust me?

I don't know you well enough to trust or distrust, but I won't let them dictate how I should feel about anyone. My feelings are my own.
